First stop, Moscow, darling! My first time at the Bolshoi, oh darling! Youāve heard the rumours about this iconic theatre, havenāt you? A veritable shrine of elegance, the stage oozes a potent energy that just seizes you! Iām practically beside myself with excitement! For this visit, my heart is set on *Giselle*, such a classic, so heartbreaking. Imagine a tender young girl who is tricked into dancing herself to death! I simply adore the romance of it all, especially the contrast between the ethereal *Wilis* and the dramatic scenes of the village. But let me tell you, itās more than just the narrative ā the dancers are phenomenal. These are the kind of girls who make you believe in fairies, my dears. I swear I can hear the sighs of admiration from every single gentleman in the audience as they watch these graceful, ethereal beings pirouette across the stage. Honestly, I am already tingling with anticipation!
From Russia, with love ā and then a quick jet across the globe to the Big Apple! Oh my, New York never disappoints, my dears, the fashion is simply divine, the energy, effervescent! I always pop in to see my darlings at the New York City Ballet, such a charming troupe! For my trip I shall see their production of *George Balanchineās The Nutcracker*, such a quintessential Christmas ballet, so deliciously magical! The enchanting tale of the young Clara and her adventures in the Land of Sweets always tugs at the heartstrings. My sweet Clara, so beautifully naive yet so beautifully captivating. The choreography, a dazzling explosion of color and intricate steps! Oh darling, it's a spectacle, an artistic celebration of every joyous Christmas tradition!
I must confess, Iām rather a sucker for all things classical, so my heart always flutters at the very mention of the Royal Ballet, darlings! Such grace and elegance in every gesture! Of course, this month, we all head for the iconic Royal Opera House. This year, Iāll be savouring *The Sleeping Beauty*, so captivating and romantic, a classic story of a princess, cursed by an evil fairy, and a gallant prince. My dear Prince Charming is quite the heartbreaker ā all noble and steadfast, so devoted. Of course, this one simply demands the most luxurious of costumes! Youāve got the glorious Princess Aurora, in every shade of pastel imaginable ā her pink tulle dress is, well, a thing of beauty, really! Such drama, and the choreography ā utterly exquisite. I dare say youāll see this production every year for a lifetime!
From the opulent and grand to a smoother touch of grace, we now move to the San Francisco Ballet. Darling, oh darling, I simply adore the creativity they bring to every production! San Francisco is the centre of style, and, to be honest, the perfect setting for an arts revolution! For this month, we are immersed in *The Little Prince* ā and what a story this is! Oh my, so romantic and poignant! Itās like an intimate conversation with an elegant ballet ā the kind that leaves you pensive and wistful for days to come. Honestly, I always feel as if I'm being swept up by a charming story! And darling, the costumes? Letās just say āstunning and sophisticatedā, all floating silk and beautiful designs ā just darling!
Now, don't let my love of classicism fool you my dears, I am just as enamored by innovation, and we know, darling, no one does contemporary dance better than the Royal Ballet of Flanders! The troupe is constantly at the forefront of modern ballet and that means taking creative risks, and, as you well know, a lady loves a man who isnāt afraid to make bold moves! This month weāre graced with their daring production *Ghost Variations* which explores a symphony of grief, loss, and life ā darling, it's truly poignant, and you know what else, darling? It's got an intriguing element of humour! They simply never fail to shock and inspire with their innovative choreography and exquisite dancing ā I simply love them to pieces! I dare you to discover for yourself this theatrical beauty.
