#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: 1846 - February 3rd!

Hello my dearest tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing time-travelling ballerina blogger, ready to take you on another exciting journey through the history of our beloved ballet tutu!

This week, we're stepping back to February 3rd, 1846, and boy oh boy, what a whirlwind of tutus it is! Oh, you want to know where we are? Well, darlings, where else would a fashion-conscious, pink-tutu-obsessed time traveller be but in the bustling heart of Paris?! It’s the absolute centre of fashion for the time and I'm absolutely gobsmacked!

Oh La La - Parisian Elegance!

My dear readers, let me tell you, Parisian fashion is simply divine. I feel like a blooming rosebud amidst the sheer finery. It's all about elaborate silks, ruffles that you can practically get lost in, and gowns that have more fabric than my entire wardrobe! It’s absolute magic!

And guess what, dearies? I've seen the most fascinating new style of tutu, and let me tell you, I can hardly contain my excitement! It's a departure from the rigid, structured look of past decades, moving towards something softer, more flowy, and just undeniably more fabulous!

We are finally embracing the magic of romantisme! That’s right, romanticism has exploded onto the scene like a whirlwind of colour and excitement, making the whole world seem brighter. Even the tutu itself seems to be swaying with the rhythms of romanticism! It’s no longer a stiff and starched symbol of structure but a dream of flowing tulle, soft and graceful. The ballerinas seem to drift like clouds.

Romance in Motion

Oh, my darlings, let's not forget about those stunning ballet performances, which are truly a sight to behold!

Today is Tuesday and it was just glorious! I was whisked away to the Théâtre de l'Opéra for an absolutely breathtaking performance of La Esmeralda! And, get this, the lead ballerina was wearing a magnificent new romantic tutu - an absolutely perfect vision!

I just adore how ballet makes history. Every day is new and exciting!

Imagine! A simple and lightweight fabric swirling with such elegance and bringing life to the most enchanting of stories! We’ve moved away from that severe and constrained look. This new freedom in design really is so magical!

Speaking of stories, my dear friends, do you know what's truly fascinating? This time travel, oh it’s a journey! But imagine getting paid to travel. To perform, to be the shining star of ballet. It is how I’m funding my adventure.

And let me tell you, what better way to explore than to travel by train. Imagine all those endless countryside vistas, charming towns, and opportunities to witness amazing performances. Each destination reveals new wonders of the stage and fashion! And of course, it is an excuse to explore the most exquisite clothing shops - a passion I can never resist!

Oh! And did I mention pink?

This little time traveller absolutely adoring pink! So of course, I am living up to my moniker - 'Emma, the Pink Tutu Time Traveller!' I find myself wandering through Paris' charming streets, making an effort to slip pink into every outfit.

After all, wouldn't it be simply delightful if everyone embraced a touch of pink, don't you think? Perhaps a touch of blush on your cheek, a delicate pink ribbon, or, of course, a beautiful pink tutu? Imagine the world painted in shades of pink – imagine it becoming more joyous, more whimsical!

Well my dears, I am off to discover more new treasures of Parisian Fashion. I’ll catch up with you all next week, but remember to be bold, be beautiful, and most of all - be brave! Don’t forget to pop by www.pink-tutu.com for more adventures next Tuesday. See you then, darling readers, and until next time - don't forget to dance with joy and wear pink!
