Tutu Tuesday #807: A Parisian Adventure! 🩰

Hello my darling darlings! It’s Emma here, back again for another fabulously frilly #TutuTuesday post!

Today, my tutu-loving friends, we are taking a grand trip to Paris! Oui, oui, I’m heading to the City of Lights and love, all thanks to my handy dandy time-travelling tutu! Honestly, it can be a bit of a squeeze fitting this beauty into a time machine, but hey, when there’s a magnificent performance by the Paris Opera Ballet at the Palais Garnier, one must sacrifice for art, right?

Back to 1847 - A World of Whiskers and Bustles

So, grab your fancy parasols and top hats (it’s the 19th century, darling!) and join me in a whirlwind trip through Paris circa June 15th, 1847.

Today, dear readers, the French aristocracy is all about showing off! I'm talking crinoline-filled gowns, powdered wigs, and those super-sized bonnets that look like they could house a family of birds. Honestly, these outfits are almost as grand as my own tutu! But I’m not here for the ladies’ fashion just yet… (though I might just squeeze in a quick stop at La Samaritaine for a look around later!).

My heart is set on the opéra, darling! You see, 1847 is a glorious year for the Parisian ballet scene. Today, at the Palais Garnier, they're celebrating the premiere of a masterpiece! A ballet called “Giselle.” Cue the dreamy music! The story of a betrayed, lovestruck peasant girl, Giselle is considered to be one of the foundational pieces of Romantic ballet, darling. They say it’s all about heart-wrenching passion, magical forests, and hauntingly beautiful dancing - everything my Tutu-loving soul craves!

Tututastic Time Travelling Tips!

Now, before I dash off to the Palais Garnier, I have some tutu-rific travel tips for you, dear readers!

  1. Keep it classy: The French adore chic fashion, darling. So, even if your own tutu doesn't involve a billowing, multi-layered skirt, do make sure to give yourself a touch of Parisian flair! A fancy hat, gloves, a dainty shawl – you’ve got to put in the extra effort for a proper time travelling ensemble.
  2. Brush up on your French: A smattering of basic French will go a long way. Bonjour, madame, Merci, and Parlez-vous anglais? This basic trio will win you points with the Parisian crowd.
  3. Don’t be afraid to have a grand old time: Enjoy the atmosphere of 19th-century Parisian society! Take a stroll around the Champs-Élysées, maybe grab a pastry from a café, and be sure to engage in polite conversation with everyone! I swear, even if you have a moment of social awkwardness, they will simply adore your dazzling pink tutu! It’s guaranteed to be a conversation starter!

The Pink Tutu - A Symbol of Universal Joy

Oh, and speaking of my darling tutu, I have to remind you all, dear readers, that a pink tutu is more than just an item of clothing. It’s a beacon of joy and a celebration of all things feminine and beautiful! It’s about spreading happiness and encouraging everyone to embrace their inner ballerina!

Just imagine a world where every day is a Tutu Tuesday - a world of pink frills, graceful movements, and sparkling smiles! You don’t have to wear a full-length, billowing pink tutu like mine. But how about a pink scarf, a pink headband, even just a dash of pink eyeshadow? Be daring, darling! Let's all add a touch of pink magic to our lives!

Now, I must dash to the Palais Garnier for the opening performance! Until next time, dear readers, happy Tutu-ing!

Your Time-Travelling, Tutu-Loving, Pink-Obsessed Friend,

Emma
