#TutuTuesday: Ballet Tutu History - 19th September 1905 - Post Number 3847!

Bonjour mes chères ballerinas!

It's me, Emma, back from another time-hopping adventure, and guess what? It's Tutu Tuesday again! And this week, my darling dears, we're travelling back to the glittering world of ballet in 1905! Can you imagine, it's over a hundred years ago! Now, I just adore this period. Imagine, ladies, tutus were reaching their full-blown, fabulous glory. We're talking layers and layers of tulle, and those stunning, sweeping, graceful silhouettes that were all the rage.

Just thinking about all those gorgeous ruffles makes my heart skip a beat! Pink, as always, was the star of the show back then too!

Let me tell you a bit about this date. This 19th September, 1905, wasn't just another day! The theatre world was abuzz with excitement. The Paris Opera had something extra special lined up, something to truly get the heart pounding faster. And guess what, ladies? A ballet named "La Péri" premiered! It’s hard to believe, but the ballet is considered a pioneering work! Imagine - it had all the best elements for a truly stunning performance - it had the fabulous Oriental theme with stunning costumes and breathtaking scenery, and guess what - it was packed with those fabulous twirls! Now who doesn't love a good twirl?

I can imagine the costumes - they would have been a spectacle! So much beautiful colour. And, of course, all those exquisite tulle layers for the beautiful dancers! You can imagine, those tutus were floating on air, a picture of ethereal grace!

Oh, it's been another day of pure bliss on the ballet front, my dears! As soon as I popped through time back to my Derbyshire home, I couldn't wait to start working on my new project. A tutu project, obviously! But don't you worry, I'm going to share more details of the project later. It's all about tutus and the power of pink. And I need all your lovely ballet fans' help with it, you see!

But first, darling friends, tell me! What's your favourite tutu style? Let's talk tutus all the way to next week!

And remember to keep your eyes on www.pink-tutu.com for next week's #TutuTuesday. It's gonna be fabulous, you just wait and see!

Until then, happy pirouettes!

Emma x
