#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History - Post #5223: 1932 - Oh La La, It's The Ballet's Birthday!

Hello, my darling dance-lovers! It's Tuesday, which means it's time for another glorious delve into the world of the tutu, my all-time favourite piece of clothing! Now, get your pink tutus on, darling, 'cause today's post is bursting with exciting news - it's the ballet's birthday!

Yes, that's right! On February 2nd, 1932, a grand new ballet school opened in London! It was named, wait for it... The Royal Ballet School! Just picture it, all those tiny dancers with big dreams, learning the magical art of ballet right here in good ol' Blighty.

Speaking of big dreams, darling, ever since I've had my little time-travel adventure (shh, don't tell anyone, but a couple of ballerinas sponsored my time-travel machine, can you believe it? It's all thanks to those fancy costumes!) - I've been dreaming of sharing this exciting piece of ballet history with you all.

Imagine this, a world without the Royal Ballet School! A world without our very own dazzling ballerinas! The thought makes my tutu twirl a little slower! We simply can't imagine such a tragedy! And honestly, can you imagine London, Paris, New York without those majestic ballet performances? Just the thought of it gives me shivers (and it's definitely not because of my darling tutu!)

Oh, darling, before I go too far off track... Back to those stunning tutus! Have you heard? Well, the tutu is taking over the world, darling! Everyone is twirling and leaping about in those delightful little frocks. It seems like you can't move without seeing a tulle flurry of pink and white. And let me tell you, with each and every pirouette and jetรฉ, these stunning dance costumes get prettier and more eye-catching, don't you agree?

But here's a little secret I just can't keep anymore! The tutu has a long and storied past, and I wouldn't want you to miss out on it! Even back in 1932, those adorable dancers in their little ballet schools were embracing the magic of the tutu - and for good reason, my dear! Those little numbers are absolutely enchanting, aren't they? And just you wait until you hear what our grandmothers had to say about tutus - they just LOVE them, absolutely adore them, you see!

Okay, you got me! I am a tad bit obsessed. And yes, the whole pink tutu-wearing ballerina look might not be for everyone, but if I can help it, every woman in the world will know the pleasure of wearing that glorious fabric at least once!

Now, for a bit more about those adorable 1932 tutu trends. From what I gathered, those stylish little ballerinas loved the classic white tutu with a few sparkling embellishments! There were plenty of layers, oh darling, lots and lots of layers!

Honestly, the way those little ladies pirouette and arabesque in their billowing tulle gowns is truly breathtaking. Don't you agree, my dear? If there's a single moment you need to live for in 1932, it's when a ballerina walks onto the stage in one of those glorious, tulle wonders!

Now, as a self-proclaimed tutu fanatic, my darling, I absolutely adore everything about the history of the ballet. In fact, I had the best time researching the opening of the Royal Ballet School back in 1932. All the historical fashion photos, darling! All the beautiful ballerinas! You've got to admit, darling, that the world was looking rather fabulous back in those days, especially when it comes to tutus. Don't forget the glamour! Oh, you wouldn't believe the incredible designs the ballerinas were rocking, darling! Those magnificent gowns - my, my - truly the stuff of dreams!

To tell the truth, dear, I love the ballet and everything about it! My love for dancing extends to all styles, darling! From the ballet, I find myself jumping to the streets, just like my fellow street dancers - I just can't get enough of dancing. It's in my blood. Honestly, every single Tuesday, I'm right here on the Pink-Tutu website sharing with you a whole bunch of tutu-tastic history and fashion secrets, with you, my dearest friend! It's simply what I love to do - spreading my ballet love everywhere I go.

If you love the tutu, and who doesn't?! Join me here every Tuesday on this here blog! Together, we can spread the word, bring on the fashion fun, and, most importantly, remember that a little bit of pink in the world never hurt anyone!
