#TutuTuesday: A Peek Into The Past! (Post #5341)
Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-loving time-travelling ballerina, Emma, here, ready to take you on another delightful trip through the enchanting world of ballet!
Today is #TutuTuesday, and guess what? We're going way back in time, to May 8th, 1934! I know, I know, tutus in the 1930s might sound a little strange. But believe me, fashion was just as exciting and full of surprises back then as it is today!
The World of 1934 Ballet
Oh my goodness, imagine a world without The Nutcracker! That’s right, my darlings, it wasn’t performed until December 18th 1934. The year 1934 was just beginning to get used to the incredible artistry of ballet as a whole! I know, it’s almost impossible to imagine. In London, The Sadler’s Wells Ballet Company (soon to be the Royal Ballet, what a journey!) was in its prime, enchanting audiences with classics like Giselle, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty. Think of it, 1934! They even had The Ballets Russes touring all over Europe, just a whirlwind of fabulous ballet tours and performances.
You may not know it, but the world of fashion was in a similar whirlwind, but with a dash of drama and sparkle! You could say it was all about bold shapes and stunning designs, with a heavy dose of Parisian chic. Now, imagine what would have happened if they combined this Parisian style with ballet! Just picture the beautiful designs flowing and twirling on stage! Oh, wouldn't it be a fabulous performance? It would be something I’d just die for!
On This Very Day
What could have happened in ballet on this very day? I just love going back to historical records and trying to figure out which ballet dancers might have been in the news. You know me! There were so many incredible companies and ballerinas making their mark on the world of dance. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new star of ballet was captivating a audience in a breathtaking performance in 1934! Or maybe someone was practicing for a debut in London! Who knows what we’ve missed! My biggest wish is to time travel with all my darling pink tutu followers, just imagine what adventures we could have.
My Pink Tutu of The Day!
So, in the spirit of #TutuTuesday and a journey back in time, I’m embracing the 1930s vibe! But of course, in my own unique way, because we’ve got to stay true to our pink tutu love! Think classic ballet style with a hint of vintage elegance – I’m channeling a beautiful blush pink tutu with delicate feather trims and a sparkling headband! Oh, and I've added a touch of glam with a sequined bolero, you know me! Just picture it, my dears.
This sparkling and charming pink tutu will transport me back to a world of swirling elegance and timeless style, even if I do just end up twirling around my bedroom.
And that's all for this #TutuTuesday, my loves. Don’t forget to share your favourite tutu memories in the comments below! You can find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, where I’ll be posting updates on my latest adventures, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for more time-travelling fun! Until next week, remember to wear pink, twirl proudly, and let your inner ballerina shine!
All my love,
Emma
