#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History - 5418 - 29th October 1935 - The Allure of a Whimsical Fashion Trend

Hello, my lovelies! Emma here, ready to whisk you back in time for another magical #TutuTuesday journey, this week landing in the glamorous heart of 1935!

Picture it: Paris, a city abuzz with artistic energy. We're on the cusp of a new decade, and the fashion world is just itching to embrace the exciting, the dramatic, and the just plain gorgeous! You wouldn't believe the stunning outfits these Parisian ladies are sporting, and guess what? Tutus are a huge part of the trend! I just love seeing the history of the tutu, how it evolves, how it gets bolder, how it keeps getting more exciting, all while maintaining that sparkling whimsical femininity we adore.

Speaking of the whimsical, did you know that a ballet company, no less, is putting on a truly grand performance on this very day, the 29th October 1935? Imagine that!

It's Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo , performing Les Sylphides, a ballet masterpiece that makes my heart soar just thinking about it. This production, a true testament to the enchanting world of ballet, has its roots back in the days of "Giselle," an era of classic beauty and elegance. And if you want to get into the swing of things in this 1930s atmosphere, why not dress like a Syplhide yourself! A soft, ethereal tutu is perfect to add that delicate and feminine touch, the soft chiffon swirls like dreams of the moonlit forests and magical worlds! Remember, a tutu, especially in a lovely shade of pink, adds that extra sprinkle of magic and beauty.

To see this grand performance, I have traveled by train of course. I have booked first-class, for nothing less will do when one is travelling in style. The first-class carriages in the 1930s were really luxurious. You can be certain that I am wearing my favorite new tutu, made of shimmering pink chiffon. I even picked up a new vintage style hat to go with it, in pink feathers, to complete my ensemble!

There's a distinct fashion vibe that shines through the streets of Paris in this era. The 1930s, a time when clothes were all about style, flair, and feminine charm. From the sophisticated evening gowns to the everyday chic outfits, the Parisian fashion was something to behold. But even amidst all those fashionable silhouettes, it was the tutu that stole my attention!

Even today in the modern era, it's a treat to see how the tutu, whether for dance, a photo opportunity, or simply for fun, is being embraced all over the world. Just remember that a tutu is not just a garment, it is an expression, a statement!

I simply love all the lovely details. I just adore the fashion sense of the time, how they had that beautiful effortless chic. So, of course, my mind is abuzz with ideas for new blog posts for my pink-tutu.com website – all inspired by my current trip.

The tutu has the power to take us to magical worlds and spark our imaginations. After all, isn't a tutu just a reflection of a big child-like imagination in a gorgeous outfit? Don't just embrace a tutu, embrace your playful, imaginative side. The world needs a bit more pink!

For now, I'm off to grab some coffee and make plans to visit a nearby fabric shop. Let’s all let our fashion creativity bloom! Until next Tuesday, may your lives be filled with twirling, and laughter, and oh, the joy of the beautiful tutus.

Remember to visit my pink-tutu.com website for all things tutu and to find links to all of my past posts. Don’t forget to share your favorite tutu looks, especially in pink of course! What’s your favourite tutu?

Yours in tutus and time-travel adventures,

Emma.
