#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: 14th April 1936 – The Golden Age of the Tutu!

Hello my darling Tutu Twirlers! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad time-travelling ballerina, Emma, back with another instalment of our #TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History blog. This week we're jetting back to the glamorous, enchanting year of 1936! Remember to subscribe and share with your fellow Tutu Tribe at www.pink-tutu.com - it's my 5442nd post! Isn't it just utterly divine to delve into the past and discover the wonderful history of the most fabulous garment ever invented, the tutu?!

Well darlings, 1936 was truly a golden age for the tutu. Imagine, dancing your way through Parisian salons and New York ballrooms in a perfectly crafted, feather-light tutu! It was a time when ballets like 'Swan Lake' and 'Giselle' were enthralling audiences with their stories of love, beauty, and, of course, magnificent tutus!

Just picture it: The stage bathed in a soft, romantic light. The music swelling, the graceful dancers, with their delicate hands and perfectly pointed toes, swirling and gliding in tutus of ethereal loveliness! These magical tutus, with their cascading layers of tulle and beautifully hand-sewn embellishments, were practically breathing and shimmering on stage. They made each and every step look even more magical. How can one not fall in love with the drama and magic that a tutu creates?

But this wasn't just about the classic tutus, darlings. It was a time for playful experimentation. Some ballerinas wore vibrant coloured tutus, showcasing the beauty of emerald green or shimmering turquoise! Some, the absolute trendsetters of the day, were even sporting bold patterns and floral accents on their tutus, injecting a burst of personality and vibrancy onto the stage! They were a true testament to the artistic expression and creativity of the time.

What about my dear 1936 darlings were wearing in the everyday world? Fashion was all about femininity and elegant simplicity. Think flowing, soft dresses, elegant blouses with frilled sleeves and full skirts. These were perfect for dancing the night away in a charming Parisian salon, don't you think? And, for the truly glamorous and courageous amongst them, maybe even a touch of a hint of pink for a truly captivating, yet effortless look!

Remember darling Tutu Tribe, when we step back in time, we learn, we inspire, and most importantly, we celebrate! That's why #TutuTuesday is such a beautiful thing!

Well, that's all from me for this week, darlings! Until next time, I wish you a week filled with fabulous outfits, magnificent dance classes, and a heart brimming with a passion for all things pink and tulle!
