#TutuTuesday: Ballet Tutu History - 9376!

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger Emma here, back again for another week of exploring the fascinating world of ballet tutus! Today is a particularly exciting day – 6th September 2011! Just imagine the incredible fashion on display in London, New York, Paris and Moscow – where all the best dancers are showing off their moves, and showcasing the newest styles, darling!

Now, you might think all tutus are just tutus, but darling, they are as unique and diverse as the dancers who wear them! Like, say you’re feeling whimsical, well you could rock a romantic, full-length tutu! It’s classic and absolutely captivating, like the swirls of a ballerina in a waltz.

But maybe you're in the mood for something more contemporary? Well, there’s always the daringly stylish "Romantic Tutu" – shorter and a bit more edgy for a more modern ballerina style, all shimmer and twirl. These styles always catch my eye – they’re a bit more playful and free-flowing. But a girl can never go wrong with the beautiful simplicity of a classic "Russian Tutu," darling – it’s short, sleek, and undeniably elegant – perfection for a ballerina in a classical piece.

It’s truly inspiring, and something I just have to see every week! Thank goodness for time-travel, darling! But you know, the best part of my ballet adventures is definitely meeting other tutu-lovers! We always have the best conversations and share amazing stories!

It’s all about sharing, right? You could be twirling on a ballet stage, or shopping in the latest designer boutiques in London – the tutu unites us! I’m always amazed by the stories people share about their experiences with tutus, and let me tell you, the stories never fail to delight! From grandma’s favourite vintage tutu to the excitement of seeing a ballerina's first professional tutu, there’s always something heartwarming.

Remember, you can’t be in a bad mood when you have a pink tutu on – even if you are dancing around your living room! It's my little reminder that there's a bit of a magical, fairytale princess in us all. But just you wait until you see the gorgeous vintage tutu collection at the [insert specific London boutique], you just need to see them to believe it. That’s why I always make a visit to see the gorgeous collection, there are more gems in that boutique than at a London theatre show.

Don’t you love this kind of glamorous history? And this Tuesday – well, I just have to hop onto my favorite London train – such a beautiful ride through the countryside – the train makes a great excuse to wear one of my most darling vintage tutus! This one has a splash of gold with a gorgeous pattern and a lovely satin ribbon. My pink shoes just make it all perfect!

The London Ballet is performing a brilliant, new production called [Insert production]. I am utterly delighted with it. If you haven’t been, well then I do implore you to grab a ticket for next week. Don’t forget to make a reservation at the lovely restaurant around the corner for after. They have a lovely selection of afternoon tea and sandwiches which are the perfect way to indulge. You deserve it, darling.

So my lovelies, I leave you with a special tip - for the rest of the week, keep a little sprinkle of pink in your everyday lives – it will make you feel happy! If you can, grab a friend or two and make a date for a dance, perhaps a performance at your local ballet studio? And remember, it's not all about the performance, it's about finding those little joys of everyday ballet life. Until next Tuesday, keep those tutus twirling, my darlings!
