Tutu Tuesday: #9721 A Dance Through Time!

Hiya, lovelies! It's Emma here, back with another Tutu Tuesday adventure! Today I'm whisking you away on a trip through time to April 17th, 2018! Now, I know, I know... some of you may think 2018 is practically ancient history! But for us time travellers, it's just another day at the ballet! 🩰

Buckle Up and Grab Your Tickets!

Today's trip took me straight to New York City, the heart of the ballet world. The city that never sleeps was absolutely buzzing! There was so much to see and do! From world-class performances at Lincoln Center to independent dance studios, this city was definitely alive with the magic of movement.

A Stroll Down Fashion Avenue

After an exhilarating ballet performance at the Metropolitan Opera, I hit the shops! Did you know Alexander McQueen, the iconic British fashion designer, launched his Spring/Summer 2018 collection on April 17th, 2018? The collection featured a touch of Parisian flair with its billowing skirts and vibrant colour palettes. The intricate detail and the intricate detail of his designs - truly a feast for the eyes!

But of course, my absolute favourite piece in McQueen’s collection? That’s easy - it was the delicate silk tulle dress. Its sheer elegance reminded me so much of a classic ballet tutu!

Finding the Perfect Pink Tutu

No visit to the Big Apple is complete without a stop at the world-famous Bergdorf Goodman department store. And wouldn't you know it, I stumbled across the most incredible pink tutu! It was the most exquisite, billowing confection I've ever seen!

I simply had to buy it, so naturally, I twirled myself right out of the store in it! I had everyone stopping in the street to compliment me on its exquisite craftsmanship. The perfect pink tutu always attracts attention.

A Night at the Theatre

As the evening progressed, I made my way to the legendary Radio City Music Hall for an incredible performance of New York Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes. Now, let me tell you, there is something so special about those perfectly synchronized kicks!

And the costumes... well, they were the most breathtaking ensemble I'd ever seen! It's impossible to look at a Radio City Rockette and not be inspired by their precision and elegance!

Fuelled by Dance

My time travel excursions are all fueled by dancing, you see! So it was back to my favourite local dance studio - Dance With Us in New York City. The energy there was incredible. From a beginner's ballet class to the high-powered contemporary workshop, the passion and dedication for dance just radiated off everyone!

Oh, and there were pink tutus all over the place! I swear, if you just so much as think about dancing in New York, someone is going to ask you to wear a pink tutu!

Tutus and Trains

By the end of the day, my toes were sore, but my heart was full. And wouldn't you know it? My journey back home involved a glamorous, transatlantic train trip, sipping tea and observing the beautiful scenery! A very fashionable way to end my time travel trip, I think!

Join me next Tuesday for another #TutuTuesday journey through time, as I explore the vibrant world of tutus!

Until then, twirl on, lovelies!

Emma xoxo
