#TutuTuesday: Ballet Tutu History - Post 9722 🩰💕
Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-loving blogger, Emma, back with another trip through the magical world of ballet history! Today, we're taking a spin back to 2018-04-24 – a date packed with exciting happenings in the ballet world. As always, my trusty pink tutu has transported me to the most fabulous spots on the globe.
You see, dear readers, this isn't just a blog – it's a mission! My aim is to inspire you all to embrace the whimsical wonder of a pink tutu. Imagine the world: sparkle, grace, and the thrill of a perfect pirouette... it's all within reach, my darlings!
Onwards to 2018-04-24, a Tuesday filled with Tutus!
It’s April, which is the perfect time to get that spring in your step, darling! Right now, the world is abuzz with ballet buzz, and 2018 was no exception.
I travelled by train to London for this date – oh, how I adore a train journey! There’s something so chic and glamorous about it. And the chance to spot the newest fashion trends? It’s enough to set a fashionista's heart a-flutter!
I headed to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. This place is simply divine! It's where all the big ballet events happen, and on 2018-04-24, a real treat awaited. The Royal Ballet were presenting “Manon,” an incredible adaptation of a classic story.
It's said that the tutu as we know it, short and voluminous, became popular with the "La Sylphide" ballet in 1832. A ballerina’s skirt was once quite long! Can you imagine! This short tutu helped the ballerina dance more freely! And since 2018-04-24, there have been so many different tutus and ballerinas throughout the years.
And talking about dancers, "Manon" was the perfect excuse to watch a true icon! The legendary ballerina, Natalia Osipova, starred! It's always an absolute privilege to watch this graceful woman. Her technique is out of this world, and her passion shines through.
But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about our fashion obsession! I found some darling, oh-so-adorable boutiques while exploring London’s Covent Garden area. One shop was a complete tutu wonderland! They had everything imaginable – from soft pink tulle to sequined beauties. Let me tell you, it was quite a tempting challenge for my wallet, but luckily my Pink Tutu fund kept me within a budget – all about keeping the pennies rolling in, darling!
Later in the week, a friend dragged me along to the “CBeebies Live!” – oh, how I love the joy of children and ballet! The “CBeebies Live! Show” was all about fairies and, you guessed it, tutus. It’s clear even little ones appreciate the enchantment of a good pink tutu!
Travel tips for a ballerina on the move
My time-traveling journey with my pink tutu always has some key necessities! First, darling, you must have the most fabulous dance bag – and pink is always the perfect choice, of course! Second, always pack your pink satin ballet shoes. These are an absolute must – I wear them with almost every outfit!
Finally, remember darling – you can’t forget your notebook! So many wonderful ideas can strike while I'm hopping on a train, taking in a ballet show, or simply staring out at the view from a pretty tea shop!
So, to recap, darling! 2018-04-24 was an excellent Tuesday. A dazzling ballet performance with a star ballerina and shopping adventures that had me dreaming in pink!
That’s all for now, my lovely readers. But before I leave you, I urge you all: put on that pink tutu! Embrace the spirit of joy and wonder.
And remember to always follow your dreams, no matter how far you have to travel!
Yours in tulle,
Emma 💕
