#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: A Whirlwind Through Time! šŸ©°šŸŒø (Post #9728)

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu-clad time traveller, back for another dazzling #TutuTuesday! Today, we're pirouetting back to June 5th, 2018, a date steeped in ballet history!

Oh my, where to even begin? As you know, I just love exploring the evolution of the tutu, those wispy, fabulous clouds of tulle that whisper stories of grace and beauty! It's my absolute passion, and itā€™s the reason Iā€™ve started to travel back in time ā€“ after all, what better way to explore the history of tutus than by stepping into the very time periods that saw them born? And let's be honest, darling, who else could pull off a pink tutu and time travel? (Spoiler alert: itā€™s me!) šŸ˜‰

Todayā€™s journey takes us toā€¦ drum roll New York City! This city is practically pulsating with ballet magic! Theyā€™ve got some seriously talented ballerinas and those gorgeous, soaring stages are just bursting with dramatic performances, oh my! I'm absolutely smitten with this place ā€“ especially all the amazing shops. Thereā€™s a shop around every corner where I can find a fantastic, glamorous new outfit for my time travel shenanigans!

So, back to our date ā€“ June 5th, 2018 ā€“ whatā€™s happening in the ballet world? Well, you know me, Iā€™m always in the know when it comes to the latest and greatest, so letā€™s get into it!

First off, at the illustrious New York City Ballet, theyā€™re showcasing a dazzling double bill: Balanchineā€™s Agon and Robbinsā€™s The Concert ā€“ two iconic pieces with utterly breathtaking costumes and choreography that make my toes tap and my heart soar! I even saw an amazing group of children performing ā€œAgonā€ ā€“ talk about stars in the making! And I simply must mention that a new production of Swan Lake has been causing a bit of a stir with the way the costumes and stage lighting blend into this amazing, surreal story!

And of course, what's a tutu-loving trip to the city without seeing whatā€™s in the ballet stores? Oh darling, you've got to check out this beautiful shop on Madison Avenue, oh, the amazing fabric and the exquisite designs ā€“ I felt like a princess stepping out of a fairytale!

Speaking of shops, I always try to squeeze in some fabulous shopping on my journeys, don't you know? It's so fun to pick up some gorgeous clothes, and the shops I've found in 2018ā€¦ oh my! Letā€™s just say thereā€™s some exquisite inspiration for those wanting to recreate that effortless, ballerina chic. I mean, the modern dresses have a real ā€˜ballerina meets rock and rollā€™ vibe about them, donā€™t you think? Think long flowing skirts with some edgy t-shirt designsā€¦ my fashion sense is going absolutely wild with this look! And speaking of chic ā€“ Iā€™ve been adding a touch of vintage flair to my wardrobe with some 1950s silhouettes that would make even Audrey Hepburn jealous!

However, when it comes to looking good on my travels, nothing quite beats the joy of stepping into a glamorous pink tutu, whether itā€™s an extravagant, layered creation or a simple, flirty, ruffled dream. It's justā€¦magical, donā€™t you think?

Remember, darlings, tutus are for everyone! You don't need to be a ballerina to embrace their magic! From fancy evening parties to a casual day at the park, tutus are perfect for bringing out your inner joy. Remember to always stay true to your personal style! Just embrace that colour, and embrace those twirls ā€“ I canā€™t imagine a day where we donā€™t get a touch of the pink tutu magic!

Stay tuned, dearies, as Iā€™m off on another journey next Tuesday, so be sure to check back for another delightful post! And remember to spread the love of pink tutus ā€“ after all, weā€™re making the world a more beautiful, twirling, and delightful place, one tutu at a time! šŸ˜‰

Until next Tuesday, happy twirling,

Emma xxx
