Now, I know what you're thinking: what could possibly be happening on a random Tuesday in 2022? Trust me, darling, the fashion world is bursting with stories, even on the seemingly unremarkable days!
This week, I'm especially excited to share this with you! This post is number 9960 for my Ballet Tutu History blog. It's a big one, a real milestone in the exciting history of my little corner of the internet! Let's get those tutus twirling!
Back to the Future… 2022! 🕰️
Arriving in 2022, I’m instantly struck by how stylish everyone is! Oh my, it’s so delightful! My dear grandma's words come flooding back to me: “Fashion is a circular journey, dear Emma. The styles of today are tomorrow’s vintage treasures.” Such wisdom! In 2022, fashion trends have revisited a lot of retro looks, but I do feel that my all-pink tutu has a slightly avant-garde, futuristic feel! It is all a matter of personal style.
The world of ballet in 2022 🩰
First things first, I’m simply obsessed with ballet shows and performances. I am a Derbyshire girl, you know. A little countryside lass, but I love getting to experience all of those stunning big-city ballets! 2022 feels so special. There's so much innovation in ballet. They have taken dance to a whole other level! I even saw one show where dancers were using technology to project their movements on a screen. It was a truly mesmerising spectacle! I could scarcely believe my eyes!
Shopping Spree in the 2022 World 🛍️
A day like this wouldn't be complete without a bit of retail therapy. London is calling! Of course I had to go shopping in Harrods and Liberty's for some stylish new additions to my tutu collection! And let's not forget a quick pit stop at Covent Garden, where the street performers have some truly exquisite tutus! I even picked up some cute, sparkly butterfly clips to put in my hair! Just fabulous, darling! My trip to the theatre at night feels just a bit more special after I treated myself to a brand new tutu.
Tutu Trend-Spotting: It's Everywhere!
Oh, it's truly fabulous seeing how widely loved and popular tutus are! I'm not the only one who embraces this adorable piece of clothing, you know. I spotted people wearing them at weddings, festivals, and even at the park! Who doesn't want to channel their inner ballerina? They're perfect for twirling, dancing, and simply having a blast! They make even the dullest of days so much more magical, especially if you choose a pretty, pale pink colour! The way the tulle catches the light is breathtaking!
Train Travels: The Journey to my Next Tutu Adventure 🚆
As always, I choose train travel to reach my destination. My trusty map and I, we make a perfect team! I feel truly alive and free with every whistle and clunk! This day I traveled through London and Cambridge - the countryside is such a beautiful sight! So much history, romance and of course, so many gorgeous photo opportunities! Every train journey, a mini adventure. And you know what, you can't have a truly fab adventure without your trusty pink tutu! I just feel it’s the perfect way to complete any ensemble. And it really makes my outfit stand out from the crowd, as everyone knows.
Travels Back in Time ⏳
