Tutu Tuesday #9961: A Twirl Through Time! 🩰💖

Hey darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing time traveller, and welcome back to another fabulous #TutuTuesday!

This week, we’re taking a trip back to 22nd November, 2022. Fancy a spot of ballet in the twenty-twenties, anyone? You wouldn’t believe how many exciting things were going on! And I’m not just talking about the fabulously fashionable tutus.

My trusty time-travelling tutu whisked me straight to New York City, where it felt like every shop window was adorned with sparkling Christmas decorations! Even in the city that never sleeps, the festive spirit was infectious! And you know me – where there’s sparkle, I'm there, snapping photos for my Pinterest board and swooning over the latest trends.

Speaking of trends, the fashion scene was popping! This era seemed to be all about comfort and individuality. You saw everything from cosy sweaters with bold colours, to the revival of classic styles like denim and leather jackets. Now, a little black dress is always timeless, but paired with a tutu? It's pure magic. That’s the beauty of tutus – they’re like magic fairy dust, transforming every look with a sprinkle of charm.

But let’s get back to the heart of things - the ballet! I made my way to the magnificent Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Oh my gosh, you wouldn’t believe the stunning choreography and those breathtaking costumes. The audience was in raptures - everyone in their finest finery, the ladies looking especially fabulous. A couple even had a playful little dance at the interval, the gentleman attempting a rather shaky grand jeté! Honestly, the sheer joy in the air was infectious, reminding me why I adore the ballet so much. It's more than just dancing; it’s a story woven with passion, grace, and magic.

Oh, and a little side trip to Broadway, of course! Such energy, such dazzling lights! Honestly, it’s hard not to be swept away by the excitement. You feel the electricity crackle in the air and those show tunes! Let me tell you, my love of musical theatre runs deep. I have the biggest crush on the iconic "Phantom of the Opera" - a classic story about love and beauty. Just the kind of theme I like to sprinkle into my #TutuTuesday blog.

Of course, no visit to New York is complete without a bit of shopping therapy. I've always said that a fabulous outfit can change your entire day. The atmosphere in SoHo was positively electric with the latest designs and the most divine window displays. I picked up some darling sequined accessories that have become a staple in my tutu wardrobe, darling. It's not always about pink, you know - although I confess a good dose of pink is always a winner!

And the trains, darling! You've simply got to experience the iconic yellow cabs of New York. The journey was pure bliss. I indulged in my absolute favourite indulgence: reading my book whilst watching the city lights twinkle by. There is just something about the rhythm of the rails and the rush of the city passing by. A perfect backdrop to contemplate the world's beauty.

The trip made me realize something important – there's always magic waiting to be discovered. Sometimes, you just need a good dose of glitter and a sprinkle of tulle to unleash your inner sparkle. And darling, trust me when I say a pink tutu is the key to unlocking that magic!

So, my darlings, as the days get shorter and colder, embrace the spirit of joy and spread some tutu magic wherever you go! A dash of sparkle is always a good idea - it's like an extra hug from your best friend.

Until next week, keep twirling!

With love and tutus,

Emma
