Hello, lovelies! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and guess what? I'm off on a sparkly adventure again! 🚂💨 This time, I'm taking my twirling talents all the way to Southampton, a beautiful coastal town known for its maritime history and vibrant culture.
Let's be honest, any excuse for a train journey is a good one for me. The rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the picturesque countryside whizzing by, and the chance to get comfy in my pink-and-sequined outfit – it's pure bliss! 💖
I must admit, though, this particular trip was fuelled by a certain level of excitement: this was my first time performing in Southampton. Now, I've performed in countless pubs, clubs, and even the occasional fairground, but there was a certain something about Southampton that drew me in. Perhaps it was the salty sea air, or the echoes of pirate legends, but it just felt like a perfect spot to sprinkle some pink tutu magic. ✨
Before the big performance, I decided to treat myself to some pre-show pampering. I headed to the stunning Southampton Docks, stopping for a delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows in a quaint cafe overlooking the water. What's a queen without her sweet treats, right? 😉
But no matter how much hot chocolate and fluffy clouds of whipped cream I devoured, my mind was always on the performance. I was bursting with excitement to unveil the brand-new number I'd been working on: a dazzling fusion of ballet, pop music, and my signature tutu twirls!
Speaking of tutus, you guys wouldn't believe the adventures I had finding the perfect one for this show! My quest for the ultimate Southampton tutu took me through every vintage shop, haberdashery, and department store in town. I finally landed on a majestic lilac tutu with shimmering sequins that shimmered under the stage lights like a thousand stars. It was, quite simply, glorious!
Of course, a perfect performance requires more than just a fabulous tutu. There’s the choreography! 🩰 You might be surprised to hear, I have my own little “Pink Tutu Sparkles” dance routine. It involves a blend of contemporary ballet movements with some seriously impressive twirls. And, of course, my signature moves that make the audience go "Ooo!" and "Aaah!" ✨
Then comes the music! My motto is: "If it’s a catchy tune and it makes people want to dance, it’s in." But I love taking my inspiration from anywhere: from pop songs to the classic soundtrack of the movie "Swan Lake" (my personal favourite ballet).
Speaking of ballet, you'll never believe what happened to me during my stay in Southampton. I went to a delightful ballet performance by the local dance company. Watching those dancers glide effortlessly across the stage made me feel like a giddy little school girl again. (Don't tell anyone, but I actually teared up a little bit.)
As you might have guessed, I made sure to sprinkle some Pink Tutu Sparkle on my whole Southampton trip. I even managed to drag a few reluctant strangers onto the dance floor during my performance at the local pub, making them do my favourite "Tutu Twirl!" Let's just say, those hesitant glances turned into delighted smiles in a matter of seconds. 😁
Leaving Southampton was a bittersweet experience. My heart felt heavy leaving the salty air and friendly people behind, but also excited to head back home, with new stories and sequins to share!
