Nottingham: Tutu-tastic Times! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’–

Hiya darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the fabulous city of Nottingham! Can you believe it's already day five of my #TutuTravels? It's flown by! This is officially my longest adventure ever - well, aside from my weekly ballet classes of course, but who's counting, eh?

So, how was my journey to this beautiful city? A gloriously pink train ride of course! I may be a science whizz by day, but by night I'm all about glitter, sparkles and a good old fashioned fairytale commute. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if the passengers thought I was a little...different. I mean, how many people do you see rockin' a pink tutu on the London to Nottingham express? (Don't answer that - the answer is: definitely not enough!)

Anyway, arriving in Nottingham, I felt an immediate connection to the city's history and heritage. From the iconic castle (with its fairytale turrets, no less!) to the bustling market, this place felt alive with creativity, just like me! It made me think: did Robin Hood really get around in a tutu? Hmm, maybe that's a blog post for another day...

The highlight of my Nottingham trip had to be my first ballet performance at the Theatre Royal! The acoustics, the lights, the amazing dancers, it was simply divine. You know, it always makes me so proud to see people embracing the elegance and beauty of ballet, even those who haven't seen a tutu in their lives before. And when you get to watch a full performance, it just inspires me to take to the stage in my own dazzling fashion!

Of course, I couldn't leave Nottingham without experiencing its thriving shopping scene. What else could I be doing? A proper drag queen has to have some new outfits, you know! This place was just overflowing with pink! Imagine my joy when I found a shop with a wall dedicated entirely to tulle! I knew right then that I needed to treat myself to a new, vibrant pink tutu. Because as I always say: more tutus, more happiness! (And, you know, more photos for Instagram.)

My mission to get everyone to wear a pink tutu continues, one city at a time! The folks at the Nottingham theatre seemed pretty into the idea, with some of the staff sporting a delightful splash of pink themselves! Perhaps I've found a new ally in my tutu-loving endeavours.

And now, darlings, a little peek into the secret world of Alex! Remember, by day, I'm a science lab queen! My days are filled with beakers, Bunsen burners, and... drumroll please...fabric analysis! Yes, I test materials for a living. Talk about a life-changing career choice, eh? The kind of job where you get to dress in a lab coat... AND a pink tutu if you feel like it! Seriously though, this double life is pretty wild! Who knew I could pull off being a fierce scientist and a glam queen? (Don't answer that!)

I must admit, my passion for tutus stems from a rather peculiar moment back in my university days. You see, my scientific pursuits were complemented by my love for ballet. I joined the university ballet club, which brought me to my first ever encounter with a tutu. For charity, the club held a fancy dress night where I had to try one on. The minute that tulle embraced my body, it was a magical experience. That was the moment I realised: I'd found my true calling! So here I am, ready to embrace the world in all its pink-tutu glory!

To wrap this up, Nottingham, you were an absolute blast! Thank you for being such a welcoming, vibrant, and undeniably tutu-friendly city. Until next time, darlings! Be sure to catch my daily updates on www.pink-tutu.com, because who knows where I'll be tomorrow! But I promise: wherever I go, the pink will be bright, and the tutu will be fabulous. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’–

Ciao for now!
