Saint Albans: Where Sparkle Met The Romans!

Post Number 72

Darling, darlings! Grab a cuppa and settle in, because this fabulous Queen is ready to spill the tea about my most recent adventure: a delightful trip to the historic city of Saint Albans!

It was a bright and sunny day, not a cloud in the sky (or, heaven forbid, a spot of rain on my pristine pink tutu!). The journey from Derbyshire was a magical experience - a picturesque train ride, where the countryside whizzed past in a blur of emerald green and sunny gold. I did manage to sneak in a bit of "ballet street" dancing on the platform while waiting for the train, naturally, to get my glitter-tastic day off to a fabulous start. πŸ˜‰

After a lovely trip, I arrived in Saint Albans and was instantly captivated. The streets were brimming with character - cobblestones, historic pubs, quaint little shops with beautiful window displays (just waiting for a pink tutu-wearing Queen to take a peek!), and even a Roman city wall! Yes, my darlings, Roman ruins in the middle of Saint Albans! Talk about a touch of history and a perfect backdrop for a queenly photoshoot. I had to, of course!

Now, you all know that I love a bit of history, and my heart nearly skipped a beat when I saw the magnificent Saint Albans Cathedral! With its soaring towers and intricate stonework, it felt like something straight out of a fairytale - only more regal and imposing. This place has history oozing from its every stone. You know I was starstruck, and a little photo shoot wouldn't go amiss! πŸ˜‰

The day, of course, wouldn't be complete without a ballet class. Luckily, there was a wonderful little dance school just a stone's throw from my lodgings, a lovely place full of so much joy and beautiful music. You can't tell me that twirling in a tutu doesn't brighten any day. The teacher was so kind and encouraged us to express ourselves through movement, just what I needed. The feeling of grace and freedom, it's indescribable!

But no journey would be complete without a proper performance, right? I, Pink Tutu Sparkles that is, got to show off my sassy moves on a stage. Now, while I won't give away all the secrets, you just have to wait until my next performance to get the full dazzling experience! All I can say is that the energy was electric!

Let me tell you, those in attendance, including my own fabulous drag fam, went wild for my act! My tutu, my dear lovelies, my beautiful fluffy pink tulle dream was the talk of the town! Everyone seemed to be enchanted by the sparkle and flair of my performance, even some brave little boys (in pink tutus, of course!) rushed up to the stage after my show, demanding photos with the Queen! A real success!

After the show, I made sure to explore the quaint shops and cafΓ©s that lined the charming streets, picking up a few lovely trinkets for my ever-growing collection, as you do! There’s something so magical about finding hidden gems in small towns - you never know what wonders you'll discover.

Oh! You simply must go down the cobbled side-street near the cathedral - a beautiful little haven, where a fabulous baker whips up mouthwatering treats! I must confess to having indulged in one too many delicious pastries - it was well worth every calorie, darling! It was, as I’m sure you'd all agree, the perfect ending to a fabulous day in St Albans.

But you know, every time I journey to a new place, I think of those lovely little girls, or the little boys brave enough to step outside the box, those people who are not yet bold enough to wear a pink tutu in their daily life. It truly brings out a powerful urge inside me to get everyone in a pink tutu! It's so empowering, and so full of fun, I just have to try and share this feeling with everyone.

Remember, darlings, no matter what life throws your way, keep on shining like the star you truly are, with a dash of pink tutu magic, because you're absolutely wonderful and you deserve to sparkle!

Until next time, stay fabulous! πŸ’–βœ¨
