And who better to explore its nooks and crannies than a pink tutu-wearing queen?
I have to confess, dear readers, travelling to Kirkby was a bit of a challenge. It involved a particularly long train journey - not exactly the ideal chariot for a queen of my stature, especially with my gigantic tutu. But, bless their hearts, the good people of the train were a dream! From offering seats to sharing snacks (the strawberry jam was divine!), everyone went above and beyond to make a queen feel comfortable.
And let me tell you, dear readers, once I stepped off the train into the heart of Kirkby, the energy was electric! I just knew this little town was hiding a hidden gem of sparkle waiting to be discovered. First on my list was a visit to the quaint, charming local library. They had a display of antique books with hand-stitched, rose-petal covered spines - absolutely enchanting! Imagine the stories they could tell, my darlings!
Naturally, I had to slip into a fitting tutu (always ready, you know) for a quick impromptu photoshoot. Imagine my delight when a friendly local lady with the sweetest smile asked if I'd be willing to be the poster girl for the local book club. My darlings, I just couldn't say no! Of course, no trip to Kirkby could be complete without a delicious afternoon tea at a cute little tea room. Then came the pièce de résistance! The highlight of the Kirkby trip: a performance at the local theatre! They were hosting a summer fundraiser with a ballet-themed show. Oh, darlings, let me tell you, it was tutu magical! They had professional dancers doing spins and jumps that left my jaw on the floor, and their costumes were just gorgeous! I even caught myself getting caught up in the performance, almost wanting to jump on stage and twirl with them. Just imagine!
