Newbury, darling! 🩰✨

Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to whisk you away to the vibrant and enchanting town of Newbury! It's post number 168 on the www.pink-tutu.com blog, and let me tell you, this trip has been a total dream!

As you know, I’m all about spreading the joy of tutus and embracing life in all its fabulous colours (especially pink, naturally!). This trip to Newbury was all about celebrating those things, and honestly, I had a blast!

My journey began, as it often does, with a dash of magic and a train ride straight into the heart of Berkshire. I adore train journeys, you know? There’s something about the rhythm of the rails and the glimpses of the countryside that just fills me with a sense of adventure. Of course, my travel attire was an absolute spectacle, complete with a shimmering pink tutu that caught the light like a thousand tiny rainbows! You wouldn’t believe the amount of delighted smiles and enthusiastic waves I received from fellow passengers - it was pure magic!

The moment I arrived in Newbury, I was greeted by the most charming town centre! Cobbled streets lined with colourful buildings, a gentle bustle in the air, and a delicious smell of freshly baked cakes – oh, it was a true treat for the senses! Naturally, the first thing on my agenda was a spot of retail therapy. You can’t go anywhere without indulging in a little bit of shopping, and Newbury certainly had some hidden gems waiting to be discovered! I found a boutique with the most amazing collection of sparkly accessories, including the perfect pink feather boa to complete my Newbury ensemble. Let’s just say my luggage got a bit heavier on the way back!

Speaking of sequins and sparkles, no trip would be complete without a show-stopping performance. I had the absolute pleasure of performing at the delightful ‘The Newbury Corn Exchange’! Imagine, darling, a charming Victorian hall, twinkling lights, and a crowd full of anticipation. The energy was electric, and I just couldn’t help but channel my inner ballerina for an evening of pirouettes, pink, and pure joy! My favourite part was definitely when a young girl came up to me after the show, her eyes sparkling with admiration. She told me she had never seen a tutu so big, so fluffy, so pink! Honestly, those words made my heart melt.

I just knew this trip needed a touch of history and elegance. So, what did I do? I popped into Newbury’s historic “Shaw House”, of course! Built in the 1600s, this manor house is absolutely stunning. Imagine stepping into a time capsule, with exquisite furniture, grand portraits, and beautiful gardens. It felt like a scene from a Jane Austen novel, with a hint of magical mystery thrown in for good measure!

Oh, and did I mention I squeezed in a ballet class while I was in Newbury? Nothing like stretching out your limbs and perfecting those pirouettes after a whirlwind day of tutus and shopping! You can’t have a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little bit of graceful movement, can you?

But perhaps the highlight of my Newbury experience was meeting a local artist named Emily, a true sweetheart who has a passion for making people smile. Her shop is overflowing with colorful handmade jewellery and homewares, and it’s just a delight to browse. We ended up having a fantastic chat about art, fashion, and the importance of spreading joy – a true kindred spirit, I tell you! And she even shared some secrets on making her famous “fairy-themed” jewelry. We bonded over pink sparkly stones, naturally, and she gave me a necklace made with the most exquisite rose quartz – such a thoughtful gift!

As my trip to Newbury came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia. But hey, the adventures never truly end for Pink Tutu Sparkles! After all, I'm always seeking new places to spread my sparkle and maybe inspire a few pink tutu enthusiasts along the way. Remember, darlings, a little bit of pink goes a long way. You never know who you might inspire to twirl around town with a pink tutu and a heart full of joy!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
