Today, we're taking a delightful trip to Blyth! This quaint seaside town in Northumberland has been calling to me for ages, and I knew my little pink tutu heart just had to take a visit. As a true "queen of the rail," my journey, of course, began with a fabulous train ride!
Remember, sweeties, Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about travel and adventure. There’s nothing quite as liberating as gliding along those train tracks in my fabulous tutu – just me, my sparkly luggage (pink, obviously!), and the anticipation of a new town waiting to be explored!
Speaking of exploring, I must say Blyth’s charming old-town charm absolutely captured my attention. Imagine, cobblestone streets leading to historical pubs adorned with quaint wooden beams, the sweet salty air carrying the scent of fresh seafood… oh, my darling! It’s like a scene right out of a Dickens novel – just with a much brighter palette of pinks!
My very first stop in Blyth had to be the Blyth Arts Centre. Oh my! What an adorable place! I can't even describe the array of creative art, craft and jewellery from local artists. If you’re in town, be sure to visit, darling. But of course, I had to bring a few sparkly souvenirs for my fellow tutu lovers back home!
Now, a truly divine day out in Blyth can’t go without a little bit of ballet magic! I couldn’t wait to slip into my finest pink tutu and embrace the rhythmic joy of a good old-fashioned ballet lesson at the Blyth Ballet School.
You see, my darlings, Pink Tutu Sparkles loves all things ballet. There’s something undeniably elegant about it. And the beautiful movement - it's truly captivating! You could say my life revolves around dance! Whether it's watching a classic performance, learning new routines at the school, or twirling around in my pink tutu at my own fabulous shows!
While I wasn’t able to squeeze in a ballet performance, I’ll be keeping an eye out for upcoming shows, especially any ballet or theater pieces that make their way to Blyth. It wouldn't be right to be in a coastal town and miss a good old-fashioned seaside spectacle, would it, sweeties? Maybe some pantomime with a twist? Let’s face it, I have an unwavering passion for all things pink and anything that shines! But if you want to talk to a real shopaholic, Blyth has the most charming shops – tucked away like little treasures just waiting to be discovered! So if you’re looking for pink accessories to go with your pink tutu, Blyth won't disappoint!
I just have to share this, my darlings – I discovered a charming little bakery that makes the most exquisite pink and cream-filled macarons, just begging to be devoured with a pink tutu in hand. Honestly, they’re practically irresistible. Whoopsie Daisy! I think I may have overdone it a little bit on those yummy, sweet treats. Maybe one too many, but who can resist a delicious macaron? I’m ready to spread some joy and love and, quite honestly, share the sugar rush!
As my time in Blyth started to wind down, I found myself reflecting on the beauty and charm of this lovely little town. It was definitely more than just a simple stop on my pink tutu travels. Blyth was a complete escape into a wonderland of history, art, creativity and pink galore! I know this beautiful town will definitely find a place on my itinerary again soon.

Hey there, my gorgeous little lovelies! Now, let me introduce myself, Pink Tutu Sparkles, the queen of all things fabulous, glittery, and, of course, pink! But before you're overcome by my dazzling pink world, I thought you'd enjoy learning about the gal behind the dazzling persona.
Meet Alex, the real life soul who gives Pink Tutu Sparkles her sassy and vibrant personality. I’m just a down-to-earth girl, living and loving life. Originally from Derbyshire (think rolling hills and charming villages), you'll often find me in a lab, my real day job. I test the sturdiness of fabrics! Sounds boring, I know, but don’t let the serious science talk fool you, dear friends. I always have a hidden stash of glittery hairspray in my lab coat and I swear, you’ve never seen lab coats twirl this way!
You’ll be wondering, how did a scientist fall into the glittery world of drag, and why tutus, especially pink ones? Well, you can't deny it, sometimes life is about embracing the unexpected. I owe my colourful world to a university ballet club. Yes, I’ve been a dancer for years, always looking to move and express myself! And guess what happened? In a moment of charitable fun, I put on a tutu for the very first time and well, darling, I’ve been hooked ever since. That’s when I knew – my life had to be bathed in pink.
When it’s time for my big transformation, the scientist gets set aside and Pink Tutu Sparkles is ready to conquer the world. By night, the streets of my adopted city become my stage! But with Pink Tutu Sparkles, there are no rules, only sparkling fun! I bring a sprinkle of joy wherever I go. There’s no party I wouldn't light up with my dazzling pink-ness. It’s my passion to make the world a little more brilliant with each step I take, a twirl and, a generous helping of pink.
