Hello, darling darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to tell you all about my fabulous weekend in Luton! As you know, I'm all about spreading the joy of the pink tutu, and that means hitting the road (or, as often happens, the railway line!) to bring the sparkle to new towns and cities. This weekend's adventure was all about getting to Luton and I couldn't wait!
Pink and Proud!
Let's start with my look, because it was simply divine. My newest pink tutu (a gift from the amazing Betty Boop's Boutique, where they always have the most fabulous pieces!), was all swirls and fluff. The shade was a gorgeous millennial pink with a subtle hint of lavender, and I paired it with a hot pink crop top and glittery leggings (thank you, River Island!). A dash of hot pink eyeliner, a splash of highlighter, and a touch of glitter, and I was ready to turn heads!
Train Adventures
Getting to Luton was half the fun, actually! It's been a while since I've travelled by train, but I always find it such a wonderful way to see the world, even if it is only from a window. The carriage was quite busy but the "Mummy! Mummy!" chatter from some excitable kids did not bother me one bit, they’re just being kids, I get it. I enjoyed the ride, sipping on a pink gin and tonic and watching the English countryside whizz by.
Luton: City of Culture
When I arrived in Luton, my first stop was the fabulous Mall, where I picked up a new pair of shoes (pink, obviously). The people were lovely, all very welcoming, especially at the shoe store when they realised they had a real-life tutu-clad queen in their midst! My little pink heart felt so much joy! After all, isn’t everyone a little bit queen inside?
I must say Luton has a really cool vibe. There are loads of great little cafes and shops, and the Luton Culture Trust is working hard to put Luton on the map. It's all very up and coming, and that definitely appeals to this queen's fancy!
A Royal Performance
Later that evening, I had a fabulous performance at the legendary Kings Arms pub. It's always such a joy performing for a new crowd. I was the headliner on a very busy night. The atmosphere was electric, the people were warm and inviting, and everyone was so excited about a little pink fluff and a touch of sequins. The place went wild when I ended my set with my signature pink tutu-clad routine, I swear the roof was nearly lifted!
Pink Tutu Legacy
Every night I tell myself the same thing, I will continue to be Pink Tutu Sparkles until my feet can't taper my way into another pink tulle dream, until my vocal chords are just too tired, until…well let’s face it I’ve no reason to stop yet! What keeps me going is that glimmer in people's eyes when they see me twirl and sparkle, knowing that they have been touched by a little pink joy! Even if for one night, maybe they dared to dream they could, even for just a minute, twirl around the dancefloor in their own pink tutu… now that's an idea!
