Acton, Oh Acton! 🩰✨

Hiya lovelies! 💖 It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another entry for you lovely lot! It's the 1st of January, can you believe it? 2001! We’re really in the future now, aren’t we? Just a tiny bit ahead of the Jetsons with their flying cars – although I bet if they knew about tutus, they’d be incorporating those into their futuristic designs too. 😄 And speaking of future, I’m on the way to Acton – yes, you heard that right, darling! We’re leaving Derbyshire behind for a spell, just for a quick jaunt to this lovely little town for a gig, some shopping, and – of course – a trip to the ballet!

This is post number 367 – and let’s be honest, some of you lot have probably seen more of me in my tutus than you have your own reflections! You lot know I've been obsessed with pink since I first laid eyes on a Barbie doll. I always thought pink just radiated happiness – which is why, back when I was a science student in university (who knew, eh? Me, with my mad passion for science?), a charity fashion show changed everything. It all began when a certain friend dared me to try on a tutu – a pink one, of course – to raise some charity cash. The second it landed on my hips, I knew, in the depths of my glittery soul, this was my destiny!

Life has certainly had its twists and turns since those uni days, hasn’t it? My days now involve testing fabric in a lab. No, darling, not for any mundane fashion houses! This is serious stuff – lab coats, scientific equipment, you name it, we use it. My colleagues are used to my tutu collection by now - I do get some funny looks from time to time when I'm heading out for a gig, though. It’s like they can't quite wrap their heads around the fact that a tutu-wearing drag queen and a fabric analyst can exist in the same person! I bet their brains would implode if they saw me waltzing down the runway in my glittery pink creations – speaking of glittery, I've got a brand new shimmering number ready for Acton that’s sure to knock their socks off, pun intended, darlings. 😏

Back to my travels, the train journey to Acton is always such a treat. I always pack my favorite comfy shoes for the train, especially for longer trips, as the heels will definitely have to take a break while I’m en route. Besides, you never know who you might encounter on the train, do you? And I mean, a drag queen wearing pink on the train is a sight to behold! One day, you’ll catch me live on TikTok, I’m pretty sure – in all my pink, feathery glory!

This time I'm hopping on the horse, but don't worry, lovelies! No animal cruelty happening here! It’s the new way of travel darling, right? We’ve gone from bicycles, horses, cars to trains, aeroplanes – what's next, hovercrafts?! Not that a hovercraft could compete with a proper pink tutu in style – those things have all the glamour of a bin bag! But it is exciting to try new ways of seeing the world.

After arriving in Acton, the first thing I need to do is stock up on new sparkles and tutus at a certain vintage shop in the town, The Ribbon Fairy. If they don't have the right pink I just melt into a pile of tulle – they know the drill! Once my collection of glittery goodness is replenished, the hunt for ballet supplies commences! A certain famous ballet school lies not too far from Acton – if it's good enough for Pavlova and the likes, it's good enough for your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, eh?! You better believe I'll be popping into the dance shop and doing my best "Swan Lake" pose in front of the mirror. 😉

Acton also boasts a certain theatre, famous for its ballet productions – and what’s a drag queen to do but catch a show or two?! You better believe your girl’s going to be sporting a glamorous outfit for this occasion – but you'll just have to wait for the next blog post for a glimpse of the sartorial delight!

I’m so excited for everything Acton has to offer – but I’m also already thinking about my next adventure. We might be leaving the Derbyshire sunshine for a while, but you lot better be ready for the return of your Queen in all her pink glory. Don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com and follow all my exciting adventures! Until next time lovelies!

Sending glitter and good vibes, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖🩰✨
