Stratford-upon-Avon: Tutu Tales & Shakespearean Sparkle! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ‘‘

#392 - January 26th, 2001 - Pink-tutu.com

Hello, darlings! Your Tutu Queen is back with a whirlwind of a post, bursting with all the pink and sparkle you could possibly wish for! I'm positively bubbling with excitement after a magical trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, a town that practically whispers with history and theatre magic.

As you know, my love affair with tutus started in the most unlikely of places - a university lab! Who'd have thought, right? But I stumbled upon this magnificent, fluffy pink creation during a charity fundraiser for the uni's ballet club. One twirl, and I knew I was destined for a life in sparkles. Fast forward a few years, and I'm Pink Tutu Sparkles, travelling the country, bringing my own brand of joy and twirling to anyone who'll have me.

And this trip to Stratford was no different! I decided to swap my lab coat for a shimmering, pink tutu, hop on the train, and whisk myself away for a weekend of theatre and historical charm. Let me tell you, folks, it was absolutely delightful!

Train Travels & Tea Time Treats:

My journey to Stratford was a proper treat, darling! The train, with its plush velvet seats and the gentle sway of the carriages, was a fabulously relaxing way to travel. The rolling hills and quaint countryside whizzing by made me feel like I was in one of those classic rom-com films! (Though, my journey was a little more dramatic than usual - someone tried to steal my sparkly luggage trolley. Let's just say, a few pointed tutus and some swift leg-work made the perpetrator regret their decision.)

I even managed to squeeze in a spot of tea time during the train journey. Nothing beats a piping hot cuppa and a little scone, right? Plus, a dash of pinky glitter to my teacups - you know me, gotta add some extra sparkles wherever I go!

A Day of Elizabethan Charm:

Arriving in Stratford, I felt like I'd stepped back in time! The cobblestone streets, Tudor architecture, and the gentle hum of the river Avon made for such a captivating atmosphere. I couldn't wait to explore!

My first stop was, of course, Shakespeare's Birthplace! Seeing the humble house where such extraordinary words were born was both awe-inspiring and heartwarming. The guided tour brought Shakespeare's life to life, from his early years to his illustrious career. (And of course, I couldn't resist a twirl in front of the statue, all in the name of paying homage to the bard! Imagine, Shakespeare, himself, twirling a mean pirouette - what a picture that would be!)

Next on my list, the iconic Shakespeare's Globe Theatre! It was even more spectacular than I imagined, a real celebration of theatre in all its glory. I couldn't resist trying my hand at a little bit of acting! I had to! Luckily, a couple of friendly, Elizabethan tourists happily volunteered for some theatrical shenanigans! The good news - they both passed my "doth doth the tutu look fabulous upon thee?" test. So we did a short improv scene. You know how much I love Shakespeare, it really did spark something! A good ol' fashioned tutus & Thespians mix, what more could I ask for?!

Twirling Under the Stars & a Feast Fit for a Queen:

After my Shakespearean adventures, it was time for a little indulgence! And you know what tickles Pink Tutu Sparkles? A delicious, three-course dinner fit for a queen. Oh my, darling, the food was heavenly! A truly lavish feast with crispy duck, creamy mash, juicy gravy and a divine berry cheesecake. If this wasn't good enough, I treated myself to a selection of cocktails that left me buzzing! (Oh darling, you know I love a good drink as much as a good dance!)

The evening ended with a stroll along the riverside. I simply couldn't resist another twirl or two - a tutu-clad ballerina twirling under the stars in Stratford - pure magic! It was a moment to cherish. The perfect end to an absolutely delightful day.

Final Thoughts: Tutu Magic in Stratford:

As I bid farewell to Stratford, I felt a little piece of this magical town tucked away in my heart, just like a sparkly sequin stuck to my tutu. This trip had a bit of everything โ€“ historical wonder, theatre delights, fabulous food, and of course, plenty of tutus. What could be better?!

Until next time, my darlings, keep sparkling!
