Bletchley - Post 441
Oh my darlings! This pink-loving queen is in Bletchley! Who knew this lovely little town would be soā¦ enchanting?! My, my, I feel like a proper little ballerina in my bright pink tutu, twirling amongst the old brick buildings and cobblestone streets. This town has a real vintage vibe, reminding me of my beloved London from decades ago. Such charm, you know!
Speaking of charming, did you see my latest tutus? I picked up two beauties in Milton Keynes, just down the road. One is a delicate pink chiffon, all billowing and flowing. I just have to do a twirl routine in that one! And then there's the other - a gorgeous fuchsia with a layer of tulle underneath, so it just explodes when I twirl! I know, I know, all the colour and shine can be a bit muchā¦ but letās face it, lifeās too short for drab clothes! Right?!
My travels to Bletchley are a bit out of the ordinary, as usual. But it's a story with a fairytale twist, donāt you think? You see, a lovely old lady, Doris, contacted me on Pink-Tutu.com (the best pink tutu blog on the planet! And yes, itās totally biased, but that's okay - all my posts are about me!) anyway, back to Doris. She has a delightful little vintage dress shop tucked away in a narrow Bletchley street. Sheād seen my London performance on YouTube and knew I was her āfairy princessā. So sweet, isnāt she? She had a spare, antique dressing-up trunk filled with tutus! Honestly, my darlings, it was like a pink princess treasure chest! And she gifted them to me to spread the joy of the pink tutu throughout the countryside! It truly felt like fate, destiny, kismet ā call it what you want, the stars were aligned for my Bletchley visit!
So, off I went on a shopping spree through this lovely little town, collecting the most exquisite vintage finds. A beautiful, delicate vintage parasol, a pair of rose-tinted spectacles, and a lace shawl, just the colour of my pink ballet shoes ā itās a bit of a love affair I tell you! This little town has truly captured my heart with its quiet charm and nostalgic spirit. It feels like stepping back in timeā¦ in the most fantastic, twirly way possible!
Did you know, Bletchley is home to the National Museum of Computing? Now, youāre all thinking, āOh, boringā¦ technology,ā but trust me, my darlings! I went inside for a peakā¦ and was mesmerised! Who would have thought computers could be so elegant?! There are giant machines with so many buttons! My little brain melted just a little when I saw the first ever computer ever built! It looks a bit like a massive, antique typewriter!
And then, just around the cornerā¦ surprise! I stumbled upon a ballet school! It wasn't just any old school either ā it had its very own little theatre! The building itself had that elegant, Victorian grandeur I simply adore. The schoolās Principal is the sweetest old woman - Miss Cherry Blossom, what a lovely name! She let me join a class, and while I was twirling and pliĆ©ing with the lovely girls, she even let me use her stage! She knows me, Iām āthat Pink Tutu Sparkles girl from YouTube!ā You can bet she loved my little dance in my new, shimmering pink tutu, darling!
I found the town so endearing. It reminds me of my hometown in Derbyshire ā the heart of England, with its lovely green countryside, beautiful old churches, and a community thatās warm and welcoming, much like Doris at her little shop, Miss Cherry Blossom at the school, and the lovely barmaid who brought me a glass of wine, pink of course! in the pub where I did my little cabaret that evening. The little stage is quaint, but there was a magic in the air as I twirled and sang my little pink heart out!
Donāt get me wrong, London is amazing, it has all the fun and glitterā¦ But there's a magic about the smaller towns and villages. The locals seem to appreciate every bit of pink tutu joy a little bit moreā¦ as they always do in those little Derbyshire towns!
Oh, I must tell you! My darling niece Millie joined me in Bletchley. Now, this darling girl has a heart of goldā¦ or at least, a pink tutu heart! Millie is the cutest little dancer youāve ever seen ā all bouncy energy and twirls, in her tiny little pink tutu! I was in charge of taking her to a dress up fair, the biggest, most elaborate costume affair you could ever imagine. We saw people dressed like knights and princesses, superheroes and space explorers ā it was like stepping into a storybook, dear! I even did a little cabaret on the big stage! I danced like a pink unicorn! The audience went wild for me! Millie was so proud of her glamorous Aunt Sparkle.
The fair even had a wonderful stall selling handmade pink tutus - all sorts of different designs! I practically snatched them up! I can't wait to show them off at my next cabaret, honey! They are just gorgeous. And, to add to the magic, my darlings, I spotted the most amazing carriage with a stunning white horse! I'm quite sure I could have snuck into it and rode away into the sunsetā¦ or rather, the sunset's rosy hues, my favourite kind, naturally! I almost did, but the carriage man - he wasnāt so impressed, bless his cotton socks, poor old thing.
You know, it was during this trip, that it dawned on me... why are the most beautiful things always associated with pink? The morning dew drops on the flower, the rosy blush on the cheeks of a sleeping baby, a freshly-opened peony - whatās the first colour that springs to mind? Pink! I guess it's no wonder I feel like such a fairytale princess in my pink tutu. Maybe the pink isn't just about colour. It's about joy, happiness, joy, and perhaps a bit of innocent magic!
You see, darling, I firmly believe that pink isnāt a colour ā it's a feeling, a state of mind. You don't just wear it; you live it! Itās a vibrant celebration of all things lovely and girly and a big, sparkling hug of joy! That's why I wear my pink tutu, every single day. I feel my heart beating to the rhythm of lifeās beautiful music, dancing through the world, bringing smiles to everyone I meet, whether they're admiring my outfit or just enjoying the twinkle in my eyesā¦
And that, dear friends, is the most magical feeling of all! And it all starts with a simple pink tutu, and a big, big heart! I truly believe everyone should wear a pink tutuā¦ and maybe the world would be a much brighter place, if we all danced just a little bit more! And when I say danced, I mean danced with passion, twirling through life with hearts filled with glitter, like a lovely pink butterfly flitting through a field of wildflowers!
Until next time darlings,
Pink Tutu Sparkles
