Hello my lovely darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, back with another post! Today's post is number 501, can you believe it? Five hundred and one days of tutu-tastic fun! I still remember when I started this blog. It was a tiny dream in a corner of my head, just me in my little pink tutu and my sparkly heels, dreaming big.
I've travelled all around the UK (and a little bit abroad) since I started Pink-Tutu.com, but there's a special feeling when I hop on a train and head for a brand new town! It's like a blank canvas - ready for a Pink Tutu Sparkles masterpiece. Today, that canvas is Newton Aycliffe.
Now, you might be thinking, 'Newton Aycliffe? What's there to do?' Well, you might be surprised. Newton Aycliffe has a history that goes way back, all the way back to the Romans! The town was even mentioned in the Doomsday Book! Can you believe it? Thatâs a lot of history for a little town, and we all know Pink Tutu Sparkles loves a good story! Iâll have to see if I can incorporate that into my act tonight!
First things first: The train! Letâs talk about travelling, darlings. There's a romance to train travel that's hard to beat. The clickety-clack of the wheels, the rumble of the engine, the endless landscape scrolling by your window⌠Itâs like a ballet in itself! The people, too! I love observing the human ballet in motion. Who is heading where? Are they meeting their soulmate? Are they escaping a life they hate? Or, are they just a regular bloke on their way home after a long day at work? Sometimes Iâll strike up a conversation on the train, I'll wear my biggest smile and try and spread the pink tutu gospel, asking what their favourite colour is and if theyâd ever consider wearing a pink tutu⌠the reaction is priceless!
Newton Aycliffe isn't that far from my Derbyshire roots, though, so itâs not much of a journey. However, that gave me time to perfect my newest sparkly eye-shadow routine! I've been working on this for a week, using different shades of pink, naturally, and adding a touch of lilac just to really pop the pink! It took quite a while to achieve this perfect "pink-and-sparkle-explosionâ effect, you know. But itâs worth it! If anyone else wants tips on perfect eye makeup, be sure to let me know in the comments! I love sharing my make-up secrets and giving tips to anyone who needs a little help making themselves a sparkly queen.
Newton Aycliffe greeted me with its quaint charm. Oh, my darlings, let's just take a moment to appreciate the small towns! You canât beat the character, the atmosphere, and the friendly faces of small towns.
So, whatâs next for Pink Tutu Sparkles, you may ask? Well, the most important thing was to check out my venue. You might think this isn't important, but letâs face it darlings, the backdrop has to be right! I checked into the venue and⌠OMG⌠the perfect backdrop was in front of me! They're currently holding the Aycliffe Town Centre Arts & Crafts Market, in a square with cobblestones and buildings over 200 years old! Youâve gotta love a little bit of historical charm with your art! I will be showcasing some of my designs! I can't share my plans, I need to keep you on your toes. Itâs important for a tutu-loving queen to be unpredictable! All I can say is that itâs going to be a whirlwind of tutus, sparkle, and art⌠Oh, and lots of pink, of course!
Later in the day, I headed out to see what Newton Aycliffe had to offer. There's this amazing cafe here called âTeacup & Crumpetsâ, perfect for a proper tea and scones break, so naturally, that's where I went! The scone was absolutely divine and the cream and jam... don't even get me started. Plus, I canât resist a good teapot, darlings! I love the elegance of it. It's just so glamorous and proper! This place just shouted "PINK TUTU SPARKLES" - they even had little pink teacups with silver trimmings and I knew this was where Iâd find inspiration. This gave me so much energy to continue the afternoon and explore!
I had my eye on a specific performance space, itâs the perfect place for me to do some of my ballet street performance - a mix of my favorite ballet routines mixed in with a dash of sass and lots of pink! I always think that the energy from ballet classes should come alive somewhere outside the dance studio. The energy has got to come out somehow, don't you agree?
And you know what? My darlings, you're in for a treat! Tonight, I am doing an âAll Pinkâ set. Think of it as âall pink, all the timeâ - all my routines in my all pink outfits. You are talking full-on tulle glory. That's what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about, my lovelies! There will be music, sparkles, dancing, and even some fabulous acrobatics, of course!
So, come out, get a front row seat, grab your fanciest pink outfits and watch the magic unfold! I just know this is going to be a special show, my darlings. After all, every show is unique. But tonight⌠Tonight promises something magical, something extra special! There's just something in the air today, a certain 'pink sparkle'. Could it be because Newton Aycliffe has a special place for me in my little pink tutu heart?
One more thing! If you come to my performance tonight, keep an eye out! I'll be giving out some of my handmade tutu bookmarks! Thatâs right, Iâm adding author to my repertoire! They're tiny tutus sewn on the cutest little card, in various colours and decorated with beads! Iâve been working on them since I arrived, so come on down, and grab one! I bet there'll be a rush!
