Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your daily dose of pink and sparkle. It’s officially summer and you know what that means – beach time! This fabulous queen is hitting the coast, and I’ve got my sights set on the charming town of Broadstairs. Let me tell you, Broadstairs is a perfect seaside getaway for a pink tutu queen like me. Gorgeous beaches, cobbled streets, charming seaside shops, and… did I mention the stunning sea views?
This week’s adventure started with my usual dose of early morning ballet class. It's all about keeping those legs toned, and that fabulous physique you know I love to showcase. Remember, darlings, a drag queen’s gotta work hard! It’s not all glitter and gowns. Anyway, I’m off to the train station! There’s nothing quite as delightful as travelling in style – I’m a big fan of the train. You get to look fabulous in your finest attire, enjoy a delightful cup of tea, and admire the scenery rushing past the windows.
Speaking of fashion, let’s talk tutus! For my Broadstairs adventures, I’m going for a beach-inspired look. I’ve been dreaming about a bright coral tutu paired with a billowing white top, adorned with some shimmery sequins and delicate shell-shaped earrings. It's all about capturing that effortless beach elegance, don’t you think?
Now, about Broadstairs… It’s got a real charming and historic feel. We’re talking beautiful Victorian architecture, cute little cafés serving scones and clotted cream, and the most delicious ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Yes, darling, you can always find a place to indulge in your sweet tooth, that's for sure!
Broadstairs is known for its annual Dickens Festival, where they celebrate all things Charles Dickens! And as a girl who loves a good story, I just couldn't miss the opportunity to visit. This is truly a special event – all those wonderful costumes, parades, and festive cheer. It was absolutely delightful! Imagine walking through streets brimming with characters straight from Dickens' novels. It's truly an immersive experience, a time travel back to Victorian England!
And don’t forget, Broadstairs is the perfect place for a good dose of seaside fun. The beaches are beautiful, especially those of Viking Bay. You can enjoy everything from swimming and sunbathing to paddling and building sandcastles. Don't forget to pick up some colourful buckets and spades, too, to add that little bit of extra colour! The water, clear and sparkling blue, is perfect for dipping your toes (or, dare I say, your tutu) into the refreshing waves!
The whole town has such a fun and vibrant energy. You’ve got those picturesque cobbled streets, perfect for leisurely strolls, taking photos, and indulging in window-shopping. And don’t forget, Broadstairs has so many wonderful independent boutiques and shops brimming with those beautiful unique finds.
You know me, darling, a big fan of a little treasure hunt, and finding unique vintage clothes is a real passion. You could imagine my excitement discovering a charming little shop called "The Quirky Mermaid." It was filled to the brim with vintage treasures, including the most stunning vintage dress. I can't reveal what I bought yet, it’s a surprise! But trust me, it's going to look fabulous on stage!
I have to confess, one of my highlights in Broadstairs was visiting the Turner Contemporary Gallery. Imagine walking through those airy gallery rooms, admiring all the stunning artwork, especially the works of J.M.W. Turner, the famous British painter, who captured the seaside beauty of this town.
After my gallery adventure, it was time to grab a spot at one of Broadstairs' charming pubs for a well-deserved glass of champagne, or maybe a little tipple of gin (we've all gotta have our guilty pleasures, don't we, darlings?). And just as you can see from the photos I've posted, those views from the harbour are just incredible! Imagine enjoying your evening tipple, watching the sun setting over the ocean – pure magic, don't you think?
I can’t wait to get back on stage at some local events in the area. I have a few little performances lined up – I’m always excited to share a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic! This seaside town is calling for a touch of glitz and glamour. It’s always so rewarding seeing everyone embrace a little bit of sparkle in their life. Maybe I'll even manage to convert a few to the world of pink tutus. After all, that’s what it’s all about, right? Spread that love, sparkle, and bring out those hidden fashion queens!
