Oh my darlings! Today's adventures take me to the charming town of Spalding in Lincolnshire! Honestly, the journey itself was pure magic. I hopped on a steam train, the old-fashioned carriage was so delightfully quaint, just like stepping into a storybook. The wind was blowing, carrying with it the sweet scent of lavender and sunshine. I felt so elegant, gliding along in my hot pink tulle dress, it was just divine!
But darling, the excitement really begins when I arrive at Spalding itself. This place is like a secret garden of enchantment! It's full of charming little shops, and you can see so much history in its brickwork and cobbled streets. The cobblestones were a little rough for my glitter shoes, darling, but a girl's got to sparkle!
And you won't believe this - the whole town was celebrating the Spalding Tulip Festival. Can you imagine, all these glorious colourful tulips swaying in the breeze! It was like walking into a giant, beautiful canvas. I was practically dizzy with delight, I felt like a pink butterfly flitting from flower to flower! I think I actually gasped out loud at the sheer beauty.
Of course, I couldn't resist capturing it all on film! My new, vintage polaroid camera has become my new best friend on the road, giving everything a retro charm that matches my aesthetic. I'm obsessed! My dear photographer is a marvel - always finding the perfect light to make my fabulous tutus even more magical! I posted some sneak peeks on my Instagram stories, keep an eye out, darlings!
Speaking of tutus, I had to get into my Pink Tutu Sparkles drag at the local pub that night! Now, dearie, this place was more quaint than your grandma’s tea cosy. But don’t let the appearance fool you, they have a real character. The barmaid served us with a cheeky wink, it was a delightful affair! I mean, darling, it’s not often that you see a sparkling, pink-tutu clad performer in a traditional, brick-walled pub, is it? I believe my performance had them practically dancing on the tables. The best part? Everyone came up after my show, asking if I’d pose for a photo, so I could teach them some Pink Tutu Sparkles magic. Of course I said yes! We had a fabulous time!
Later, darling, we slid over to a community theatre to watch a local amateur ballet troupe's performance. It's truly such a pleasure to experience ballet in its simplest, most heartfelt form. I adore supporting local artists and finding that magic in all its guises. And it definitely wasn’t lacking in glitz and glamour - I was especially fond of their interpretation of Swan Lake – and the finale with the whole cast dancing with feathers, just delightful. A bit of tutus on my part, and I swear the little one in the audience gave me the most radiant smile I’ve ever seen.

Morning, darlings! It’s so good to be back in the studio. You know, I simply adore the way this place always welcomes me with open arms - a haven for all things shiny and fabulous. I've got a busy schedule, lots of tutu tweaking and sequin sewing ahead of me - gotta make sure all my ensembles are ready for my next whirlwind adventure!
Darling, last night’s performance at that pub had the most remarkable effect. We laughed, we sang, and we danced together like there was no tomorrow. You see, I feel like my passion for dance and performing isn’t just for me. It’s a gift, something I get to share with the whole world! That was definitely a turning point - it felt like we created a small magic in that room, just the two of us.
Speaking of gifts, darlings, have I shown you my latest purchase? A pair of vintage sequined opera gloves - so chic, darling! - that I’ll be styling with a beautiful silk tulle dress that is just bursting with shimmering colour. It’s just waiting to make a grand entrance! There’s something about the simple elegance of a tutu, isn’t there?
Now, let's get to the real nitty-gritty: the fabric testing! Yup, darlings, you know this is part of the day-to-day gig of being a scientist! Good morning, loves! I'm writing this while sipping my morning latte, which by the way, has pink glitter on top – always gotta have the sparkle! You see, I've always said a good breakfast is the key to a brilliant day, and darling, today’s is particularly fabulous, as I'm getting ready for one of my most favourite events - The Grand Bazaar in Nottingham!
My excitement levels are through the roof, my dearest. I just love these open air markets with their delightful stalls overflowing with beautiful handmade goodies, colourful crafts, vintage treasures, and more. They have such a beautiful energy! Not to mention the opportunity to share my passion for all things pink and fluffy.
Now, darling, you know Pink Tutu Sparkles has an irresistible pull towards all things fabulous - but today, it’s going to be about showcasing a brand new line of my creations. I have a collection of delicate, handcrafted silk scarves adorned with glitter and rhinestones. Perfect for adding a little bit of magic to your outfits. I’ve also got some beautiful tulle bags – darling, they sparkle so beautifully - I think I’ve just fallen in love all over again!
You wouldn't believe the sheer delight of being surrounded by so much creative energy, exploring all these beautiful pieces from different makers. The Grand Bazaar just feels alive with colour and warmth. It's an atmosphere where you can really immerse yourself in your imagination, darling!
And there’s always so much delicious food on offer! Today’s treat is definitely going to be a slice of homemade, pink lemonade cake, because why not? Of course, I will be giving out some fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles goodie bags! Now darling, what could possibly make these better? How about some delicious cupcakes! I think they deserve a little bit of magic in the form of a sparkly cupcake, don’t you? I’m absolutely spoiled for choice!
Later tonight, I have an amazing opportunity to showcase a dance piece inspired by the whole Bazaar experience. I believe I have found the perfect place, with an intimate atmosphere - so darling, keep your eyes open! This show’s going to be fabulous, a whirlwind of colour and emotion you don’t want to miss.
