Oh, hello lovelies! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh off the train from Derbyshire and ready to paint Liverpool pink! 🚂
As you all know, I’m always up for an adventure, and this week's trip was no exception. A fab gig popped up in Liverpool – a big stage, a buzzing crowd, and a chance to spread some pink tutu joy to the North! And how could I say no to a city so steeped in history, art, and… well, the Beatles, obviously!
Before we delve into the glittery madness of my Liverpool performance, I have to tell you all about my fabulous journey! Now, as a rule, I always try to avoid flying, for two reasons: firstly, those dreaded airport queues – no, thank you! Secondly, because you can’t wear a full-length tulle skirt on a plane without it getting trampled underfoot (and we all know my signature look revolves around the fluffiest, most fabulous tutus).
So, train travel it was – a proper grand tour through the British countryside, watching the green hills roll by from the comfort of my first-class carriage! It’s all about that classic vintage vibe, right? Plus, I made sure to pack my favourite tutu, a dreamy number in shimmering pink chiffon – it just screamed 'pink queen going to a party', don’t you think?
Once in Liverpool, I simply couldn't resist exploring this vibrant city! Now, as any fabulous queen knows, there’s no better way to get the feel of a new place than with a little bit of retail therapy! My motto? If in doubt, sparkle!
I hit the shops like a glitter bomb in a windstorm, stocking up on all sorts of shiny new treasures to add to my drag wardrobe. There were feather boas galore, some dazzling sequined gloves, and, of course, a brand new tutu for the performance (you simply can't have too many, darlings!) I went with a vibrant cerise this time – a bit of a statement, don’t you think?
It was then time to head to the venue, a bustling cabaret club in the heart of the city. The energy was electric, with a crowd of lovely, friendly folks already getting their groove on. Before I knew it, the stage lights were up and it was showtime!
Now, darling, let’s talk about my show! This wasn't just a regular performance; this was Pink Tutu Sparkles on a mission! I performed my latest routine – a flamboyant, high-energy mash-up of "Don’t Stop Me Now" by Queen and "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake (with a sprinkle of some fabulous ballet moves thrown in, of course).
The crowd went wild – confetti raining from the ceiling, laughter echoing across the room, and enough screaming and clapping to wake the dead.
It wasn’t just about the music or the dance, darling; it was about bringing joy and positivity to the stage! This was what it was all about - showing people that anyone, no matter who they are or where they’re from, can be confident and fabulously expressive!
Afterwards, everyone just had to come up to me and gush about how much they loved my show, and how the whole pink tutu look made their day! That's what keeps me going, my dears - those smiles, that excitement, those loving faces – it makes it all worth it!
But wait, there’s more! Before I left Liverpool, I took a trip to the Tate Liverpool to soak in some art! Now, I have a soft spot for classic art – the dramatic poses, the historical context, the beauty of the colours and brush strokes. It's a wonderful contrast to the bright lights and quick-fire excitement of a cabaret stage!
Of course, no trip to Liverpool would be complete without a taste of their culinary delights. So I dined in style – indulging in a gorgeous meal at a charming cafe nestled in the city centre. Let's just say, there were pastries, pies, and oh, so many cakes, my dears. It was divine!
This little escape has reignited my passion for spreading the joy of tutus across the world, darling. Liverpool was a fabulous adventure, and the people there embraced the pink tutu spirit with open arms! I’ve left a trail of shimmering, pink tulle magic in my wake, and that’s what it’s all about – spreading joy and showing the world that even in our daily lives, a little bit of sparkle can go a long way.
