It’s day number 829 on the fabulous journey of Pink-Tutu.com, and today, we’re hitting the capital city in style. London, you better prepare yourself, because your girl is coming to town with a sparkly pink cloud of tutus and enough glitter to light up the Thames. ✨

Right, I know you’re probably wondering… what’s with the tutu love, eh? Well, darlings, this ain’t no fad. This is my life, my passion, my whole everything! And, guess what? I want every single one of you to embrace the wonder of the tutu!

But how does a gal from a quaint Derbyshire village end up twirling in a tutu in London, you ask? Let me tell you, darlings, it’s a story of sparkly sequins and scientific breakthroughs, trust me! See, by day I’m Alex, a bonafide scientist working in a laboratory, testing the very fabrics of dreams. It’s all microscopes and chemical reactions… boring!

But by night… oh, darlings… the magic happens! I become Pink Tutu Sparkles, my alter-ego who loves nothing more than swirling, pirouetting, and sharing a bit of joyful chaos with the world. I fell head over heels for tutus when I was a student at university. My ballet club needed donations, and I just had to try one on for charity. You see, I’ve always been a fan of the theatre, the dance, the dramatic. The second I felt the tulle on my skin, I knew, I knew I’d found my calling.

And here we are. Today’s journey is a trip to Hammersmith! I’m off to dazzle the crowd with my signature showstopper “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” – think tap-dancing, twirling, and, naturally, lots and lots of sparkles. But, first things first, I gotta find the perfect look for the show, right?

I’m a huge fan of browsing through markets for fashion inspiration. So this morning, I ventured to Notting Hill’s iconic Portobello Market – it’s a dream for any girl who loves vintage finds and one-of-a-kind pieces! Imagine stalls brimming with the most amazing dresses, vintage hats, shoes from a different era, and all those irresistible quirky trinkets you never knew you needed.

But darling, let's be real, I’m obsessed with anything pink, so imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon a tiny, delightful shop tucked away amidst the hustle and bustle of the market. It was a haven of pink bliss – think ruffled fabrics, shimmering bows, and sparkly tutus! I swear I almost burst into tears of joy! 💖

After a few hours, my shopping bags were full to the brim with the most perfect additions to my wardrobe: a luscious blush-pink tulle skirt with lace embellishments (divine, darling!), a pair of hot pink peep-toe heels adorned with tiny bows, and the pièce de résistance… a brand-new, oh-so-fabulous, oversized pink bow!

Speaking of oversized bows, I absolutely love them, darling! They're the perfect touch of whimsy, don't you think? They add a dash of playfulness and sass to any outfit. Whether it's a dramatic bow tied around my waist or a large fluffy bow adorning my head, I embrace them all!

Of course, with my shopping spree over, it was time to get to Hammersmith. But not just any boring bus, darling! Oh no! I took a grand journey by train! I’m talking plush red seats, scenic views of the countryside, and endless entertainment courtesy of the delightful train staff who are always so chatty and welcoming! 💖

For someone who’s happiest twirling and leaping, sitting still on a train can be a challenge, but I've got my trusty arsenal of pink-tutu-tastic tricks! First, I sported my most sparkly pink tutu, of course! And for the perfect touch of whimsy, I donned a feather boa, you know the one, it's bright pink and so soft. It’s almost impossible not to smile when you’ve got something this sparkly to cheer you up.

Speaking of cheerful, darling, have you heard about the lovely folks at the train station? Now, you might not believe me, but there are so many lovely, friendly faces ready to help! This one lady, who had the most amazing red hair, she even helped me carry my shopping bags to my carriage, it was so sweet! 🥰

I might be a scientist, but when it comes to travel, I’m a real romantic at heart! So, train journeys are not just a way to get to where I need to be… they’re also a chance to dream, a chance to let my imagination wander, and a chance to inspire my fashion creativity!

Now, I’m a dancer at heart, darling, so any chance I get to go to a ballet show or class… well, you know I’m gonna be there! Hammersmith's beautiful Apollo Theatre has this captivating ballet production called ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ with incredible costumes and stunning choreography.

The music, the artistry, the emotion… I just lose myself in the performance, you know? Seeing all the beautiful dancers gliding across the stage, their tutus billowing behind them, is simply breathtaking! I was totally mesmerised by the elegance and precision, not to mention the graceful twirls and leaps! Ballet inspires me to push my limits as a performer, to tell a story with every twirl and gesture!

Now, I can’t divulge too much about my own act at Hammersmith because, well, you’ll have to see it for yourselves! But trust me, I’ve got some absolutely dazzling surprises in store! Think pink, think tutus, think sequins, and then add a whole lotta sparkle! You know you want to come and see what all the fuss is about, right?!
