Chatham Calling! (Post #854)

Oh my darlings! What a whirlwind of a week it's been! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the enchanting town of Chatham. Can you believe it's only May already? I swear, time just flies when you're having a tutu-tastic time!

This trip, my lovelies, started with a grand adventure. A whole new way to travel, I tell you! You see, I have this thing about horses... I adore their graceful movements, their powerful stride, their - dare I say it? - utter elegance. And in a stroke of fabulous luck, I was invited by a lovely farm in Kent to participate in a charity event, offering rides on horseback in return for donations. This wasn't just a mere ride, dear reader, but a grand processional on the most majestic steed, his chestnut coat gleaming in the sunshine, and me... well, let's just say I looked fabulous atop my equine companion! A true queenly affair, complete with a magnificent pink tutu, naturally. You know I'm all about pink tutus everywhere I go!

Now, my darling fashionistas, you know I live for my outfits. This trip called for something truly grand, something with the vibrancy of Chatham, the grace of the horse and, of course, the ultimate pinkness! So, I popped into my favourite vintage shop in Derby and found the perfect ensemble. Think flamboyant pink ruffles, feathers that shimmered with every movement, a touch of velvet for a hint of luxury, and oh yes, you guessed it, a breathtaking pink tutu, naturally! The moment I wore it, it felt as if my inner ballerina took over. Ready for the stage!

Chatham, darling, you're simply delightful. The cobblestone streets, the history oozing from every corner, the quaint cafes, it's simply intoxicating. After my regal horse ride, I made my way to the heart of the town to explore the charm that I've heard so much about. Now, a girl has to stop for a proper afternoon tea, wouldn't you agree? I opted for a traditional spot, complete with floral china and dainty sandwiches.

Chatham also holds a very special place in my heart as it's renowned for its beautiful ballet classes! I couldn't resist a chance to twirl with the locals. Imagine my excitement! It felt like I was transported to a world of grace and artistry, and oh, did I sparkle! Let's just say, those dance classes had me gliding and leaping like never before, and of course, the pink tutu, oh my darlings, it took centre stage! I believe my pink tutu was the envy of all the lovely ballerinas in that studio, haha. They just loved it!

After a tiring, but fabulously pink, day of dancing, I decided to treat myself to a much-needed manicure. It wasn't your standard nail appointment though. My darling manicurist used her artistic talents to paint exquisite, detailed designs that really sparkled under the lights. I swear, she was like a tiny artist with a magic wand, painting little miniature scenes onto my fingertips. The beauty of this whole process? I requested that all ten nails were adorned with my signature pink glitter! Who can say no to glitter? And you've got to love the fact that your nails don't always have to match your outfit, they're just meant to be beautiful!

One of my absolute favourite things to do when travelling is experiencing the local theatre scene. So, you can just imagine my excitement when I discovered that Chatham has an incredible community theatre, packed full of local talent and a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere. As soon as I heard about their production of β€œThe Nutcracker", I knew I was going to enjoy this theatre, but when they told me that there were guest dancers from the Royal Ballet joining them, I nearly burst with joy! The performance, of course, was utterly brilliant. The set designs, the costumes and most importantly the captivating ballet. I am so drawn to ballet, from the elaborate steps to the ethereal atmosphere, the tutus (well, I have a soft spot for a fabulous tutu, especially when it's pink! πŸ˜‰). It truly brought a sense of enchantment to my visit. As the stage lights dimmed at the end of the show, a hush fell over the entire auditorium, followed by the thunderous applause from the enthralled audience. It truly was an inspiring performance which brought out the true queen in me.

Of course, no trip to Chatham would be complete without a proper theatrical outing! The grand dame of British theatres. And so I ended my journey in Chatham, dancing through the streets with my trusty pink tutu and my inner ballerina guiding my every move, soaking up the atmosphere and dreaming of all the adventures to come. This magical little town was an utter joy and it really reminded me why I do what I do, you know, spreading the tutu love all over the country, getting everyone to wear their inner pink tutu, embracing the magic and sparkling like the fabulous, glittery drag queen I was born to be.

The sun sets on another incredible adventure. I can already tell that I am going to miss Chatham dearly. You've been nothing short of incredible. And don't forget to check out my social media for even more sneak peeks into my travels. I will be sharing stories from the road and more fun tutu pictures!

See you in my next post, darling!
