East Ham: Tutu Tales! ✨

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing, sparkle-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you another day of delightful debs and fabulous fun from the world of tutus and travel! This is post number 855 for your reading pleasure, and as always, you can find more adventures over on my website www.pink-tutu.com.

Today, we're whisking you away to East Ham, a vibrant corner of East London, and what a journey it's been! I've always been a bit of a train fanatic, you know. The rhythmic clatter of the tracks, the hushed whispers of fellow travellers - it's all part of the magic of exploration. This trip was no exception, as I shimmied my way down from Derbyshire in my signature pink tutu, ready to paint the town with a rainbow of sparkly joy!

As soon as I stepped off the train, I was met with a vibrant mix of cultures and bustling energy. The air hummed with life, a real melting pot of friendly faces and fascinating sights. It's easy to see why East Ham is a magnet for creatives, especially those who, like me, love to express themselves through art and performance!

Speaking of performance, I was booked for a delightful little gig at a local pub, "The Rose and Crown." You'd be surprised how many people I can squeeze into those tiny pubs sometimes! But even if the space is cramped, the energy is electric. This time around, I performed my 'Fairy Tale Follies' routine - think whimsy, laughter, and of course, a dash of pink glitter! My fabulous backup dancers, a talented bunch of locals with hearts as big as their smiles, really added to the magic.

After my set, we were all starving! Luckily, we were within a stone's throw of the most divine little Indian restaurant, "The Saffron Spice." You know I love a bit of spice, especially when it comes to food, and oh, this place was a real treat!

But, even more exciting than a great meal (and that’s saying something!) was a chance meeting I had with a group of incredibly talented dancers. They're working on a production of Swan Lake at the East Ham Community Theatre and, guess what? They needed a pink tutu! Luckily, my generous friend and trusty sewing fairy, Stella, always travels with a bag full of sparkly reserves for emergencies. Now, let me tell you, there's nothing like the feeling of your custom-made pink tutu on another dancer, performing on stage. Pure, magical joy, darling!

The next day, I decided to indulge in my other love: a trip to the grand West Ham Park! Imagine miles upon miles of greenery, sprawling lakes reflecting the summer sunshine, and even a quaint little carousel. Perfect for a touch of fairy tale magic!

This, however, wasn't your typical picnic-in-the-park affair. I had a secret mission, you see: to encourage more people to wear pink tutus! It may seem crazy, but I firmly believe that embracing our inner whimsical side is essential for true happiness. And what better way to embrace your inner whimsy than to twirl in a magnificent pink tutu?!

Of course, not everyone is ready for a full-on tutu experience, but I believe everyone has a bit of tutu magic inside. That’s why I brought my tutu-making kit!

My kit, lovingly referred to as ‘The Sparkles’, contains everything you need to add a splash of pink to your life – fabrics, ribbons, sequins, glitter glue, even the occasional feathery trim! I spent the afternoon creating mini-tutu toppers for those brave enough to break away from their usual attire. A handful of adorable little girls embraced the tutus with wild enthusiasm, while a few bold lads donned some mini-tutu headbands, a giggle and a wink brightening their days. You could practically hear the joy bursting from the park!

One of the highlights was meeting a young boy, around eight years old, named Henry. Henry had the shyest smile and a little sparkle in his eye. When I presented him with a feather-trimmed pink mini-tutu, his whole face lit up, and he danced around like a little angel. To see his innocent joy made my heart skip a beat, reminding me that a touch of magic, in the form of a tutu, can bring so much light to a day!

By nightfall, I was tuckered out but also exhilarated. I managed to leave a few more happy souls with a touch of pink magic, which is all the fuel I need to keep twirling through this life!

But hold on, there's one more surprise before I sign off. As we were packing up to catch the last train back to Derbyshire, I stumbled upon a vintage fair just around the corner. Imagine a whole marketplace overflowing with trinkets, treasures, and whimsical oddities! And, guess what? It was jam-packed with people all decked out in fabulous costumes and vibrant colours, looking for a little vintage magic!

I just had to join in! I couldn't help myself - I launched into a mini-tutu performance right there in the bustling market square. It started with a song about the power of imagination, the infectious beat spreading through the crowd. Soon, a little boy in a red bowler hat grabbed a mini-tutu from my stash and twirled along with me! Moments like these are why I do what I do, darlings! It's all about celebrating joy, embracing a little sparkle, and bringing people together through a shared love of all things tutu.

And remember, my lovelies, every day is a chance to find a touch of sparkle, embrace the unexpected, and spread a little tutu magic! Keep shining, keep dancing, and remember, always twirl like nobody's watching!

Till next time, my dears!

Love always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
