Harrogate, Oh Harrogate! TutuQueen on Tour, Post #861
Hello darlings! TutuQueen here, back with you after an absolutely fabulous trip to Harrogate, that gorgeous little spa town in Yorkshire.
I just have to tell you all about it! This week was just a dream – I finally got to perform in the gorgeous Harrogate Theatre, the stunning art deco building, and let me tell you, the crowds were amazing! I literally felt like a proper star, surrounded by so many wonderful, supportive people. It felt absolutely fantastic to share my love for pink tutus and sparkle with them!
Now, you know I love my travel, but this was extra special. Firstly, getting there was a pure joy – I opted for the scenic route, catching a steam train from Chesterfield to Harrogate. It was absolutely delightful, the vintage carriages, the gentle chugging, and of course, the beautiful Yorkshire countryside whizzing by the windows. I practically had the carriage to myself, allowing me to relax and plan my set for the night. You’d think I’d be tired, wouldn’t you, after a long train journey, but darling, I had an actual tea party waiting for me upon my arrival. My lovely host, the manager of the theatre, had set out a beautiful spread of cakes and finger sandwiches - pure indulgence, I tell you!
After a quick rest and a touch-up, it was off to the theatre. Let me tell you, this was a big moment! Not just because the Harrogate Theatre is one of the most gorgeous venues in the north, but because of how I felt stepping out onto the stage in all my glory – TutuQueen, adorned in a blush pink tutu and glittering tiara, ready to bring a bit of fun to the audience.
I opened the show with a truly sparkling performance of ‘Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend,’ (naturally, the classic, nothing less! ) followed by a truly campy take on ‘My Favourite Things’ that left the audience howling. I think my rendition of "Everything is Pink" really stole the show – those dazzling high kicks with my pink sequinned shoes in a fiery red tutu were truly mesmerising.
But Harrogate had so much more than just the show! It really is a lovely, lovely town, and my time there was like stepping back in time, surrounded by charming old streets with quaint shops and traditional tearooms. The air was so crisp and clean, a delightful change from the Derbyshire fumes! I indulged in some fabulous shopping in the beautiful boutiques – my luggage almost couldn't contain the incredible new finds. It wouldn't be a proper visit to a spa town without some pampering. So of course, I booked myself in for a beautiful relaxing massage and, Oh my darling, the experience was pure luxury! You know, it really is about the little things.
The entire experience truly warmed my heart. I must say, Harrogate embraced my sparkly vision – I felt embraced, adored, and just utterly at home. There was even a lovely young girl, dressed in a sparkly pink tutu, who ran up to me afterwards and asked for a photo! My heart, honestly it melted!
Now, to those who say that my mission to get everyone in a pink tutu is crazy – you have to see the joy it brings to people, the smiles, the happy laughter! Just take a look at that girl who came up to me at the Harrogate Theatre – her face beamed as we posed for a picture. And seeing people like her, makes me feel like all the travel and the glittery hours perfecting my routines are worth every minute!
That's all for now, lovelies!
Catch me next on the big screen for a surprise movie appearance!
Until then, wear your pink tutus proudly and shine like the fabulous humans you are.
Love,
Your TutuQueen
