Oh, my darlings! Get ready for another fab-tastic Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure! This week, I'm hopping on the train and heading to Laindon - a town that may be unknown to many but has certainly captured my sparkly heart!
Firstly, a shout-out to all the amazing folk who came along to my last show in Grimsby! You lot were just phenomenal, making this tutu-wearing queen feel like she was walking on clouds (which, if we’re being honest, would be quite awkward on stage, but you get the picture). I was blown away by the enthusiasm, the cheers, and the genuine love for all things pink! And the biggest thanks of all to the lovely people at the Grimsby Art Centre who allowed me to grace their stage!
Now, as I said, I’m headed to Laindon, which is a beautiful little place in Essex. It’s got a certain…je ne sais quoi, don't you think? It feels full of hidden surprises. I love towns like this – they remind me of those quaint little villages in France, the ones with the bakeries that sell the most incredible pastries! (Can you imagine the picture of me walking down the street in a pink tutu, smelling all the fresh bread?! I must have my photographer in tow for that!)
The trip down will be quite the experience. I am opting for a more environmentally-friendly, and let's be honest, more glamorous mode of transport: the good old fashioned horse and cart! Just picture me perched atop the cart, adorned in my dazzling pink tutu, with the wind blowing through my hair! (Actually, if you're seeing me walk past, I am probably sweating through every piece of makeup on my face and trying to hang on for dear life - I’m not the best at balancing!) I imagine it’ll be a journey to remember – who needs trains or taxis anyway?!
But hold on! There’s so much more to Laindon! Apparently, the town is hosting the most amazing annual "Ballet in the Park" event. I mean, what’s a queen of pink tutus to do except shimmy her way there, don’t you think? I already have a plan to perform a few pieces! Who needs the London Royal Ballet, right?
(You guys might not know this about me, but my love for ballet is not just a whim. I was a bit of a science nerd, but then I tried on my first tutu as part of the university ballet club charity fundraiser! Now, every day, I work in a lab, testing fabric for strength, but by night, I’m a Pink Tutu Queen, testing the boundaries of sparkle and beauty!)
Anyways, the performance will be just the beginning of the festivities! This week is also the Laindon "Fab-Tastic Flea Market". Now, I love a good bargain – especially if it involves vintage outfits. You never know what amazing finds you'll unearth! And believe me, my darlings, this Pink Tutu Queen loves her wardrobe as much as she loves her pink!
Before we delve into the thrilling possibility of discovering fabulous vintage dresses, it's important to remember, this is Laindon. And Laindon, to me, means the “Tutu for Everyone” project! I’ve set out to make the world a much prettier place, and that means a whole lot more people in pink tutus, right? Now, it’s more than just the fashion. I find it absolutely liberating – the feel of tulle twirling around you. There’s a lightness to it, you know? So I will be popping by the local youth club – and who knows, maybe even a primary school (all in the name of fabulous fashion)! It’s a small town, so perhaps I can visit every school, church, and library!
I can't wait to explore the vibrant energy of Laindon! With its beautiful park, flea markets full of hidden treasures, and open-hearted people, this promises to be another dazzling chapter in the adventures of Pink Tutu Sparkles.
