Hitchin: Where Pink Tutus Meet The English Countryside
Hello darlings!
Itâs your TutuQueen here, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and youâre on episode 976 of my Pink-tutu blog, fresh from the charming town of Hitchin, just down the road from Cambridge. Hitchin is just so beautiful and so utterly quaint that I thought to myself, Darling, this is where pink tutus just belong. And trust me, dear readers, it did!
Hitchin was calling out to me - it was the sort of place that whispered stories of forgotten fairies, lost in the fields and secret gardens, wearing only shimmering pink tutus. Imagine the spectacle! That's exactly the image that inspired my outfit for my first foray into this English village.
My outfit, as you all know, is a serious commitment. It involves careful planning and, to be honest, hours of strategising! I wanted my pink tutu to be absolutely dazzling in Hitchin. The fabric, my dears, was chosen for its sparkle â the perfect material for a day exploring a village so historically steeped in enchantment.
I started the day at Hitchinâs charming station. With its lovely vintage clock, it couldâve been straight out of a period drama. There I was, arriving with my giant suitcase, filled to the brim with tutus, feathers, sparkles and my very own âSparkles and Sprinklesâ travel mug, full of sparkly, pink strawberry and milk tea, all my staples! The other passengers stared, and a small child shrieked âOoh! A princess!â at the top of their lungs.
Honestly, darlings, it made my day! Being an inspiration, especially to the young ones, makes my journey truly worthwhile. After all, I believe that a little pink tutu can brighten even the gloomiest day!
Hitchin's High Street beckoned me next, so I headed to explore. Itâs full of those quaint independent shops that make you feel like youâve stumbled upon a secret gem. There was a bookstore crammed with dusty classics and a quirky shop filled with brightly coloured knitted toys. All so utterly magical and reminiscent of another age. And Hitchin just oozed history. Did you know they have a Medieval church and a gorgeous market square? It was absolutely captivating.
For lunch, I found myself at a delightful little tea room â just my style. I savored a cup of afternoon tea, accompanied by delicate finger sandwiches, fresh scones and, of course, strawberry jam. That tea room felt straight out of an Agatha Christie novel! I almost expected a grumpy but handsome detective to waltz in, looking for clues to a baffling murder mystery.
After tea, it was time to head back to the station and continue my travels, which means, darling, that you know where to find me next week: the fabulous town of ... (keep checking back! I won't tell you yet! It's a secret, but I think you'll adore it!)
Of course, before I left Hitchin, I had to pop by the local fabric store for a bit of inspiration. They were delighted to have a âPink Tutu Queenâ browsing the aisles. Who would have thought that this little scientist from Derbyshire, a tiny town you might have never heard of, would inspire people like this! Whoâd have thought that wearing a pink tutu would lead me here, surrounded by fabulous fabrics, history, sunshine and happy smiles.
Remember darlings, thereâs a pink tutu inside us all, just waiting to be unleashed. If you're feeling shy, you can always start small: a pink bow, a pink handbag. Take your time! Wear what feels right, darling! Let that inner glitter explode. After all, itâs the most important message my lifeâs work conveys: We can all be sparkling, magnificent creatures! And yes, the more pink, the better.
So until next week, darling, keep believing in yourself, your sparkle and, above all, donât be afraid to be yourself!
Donât forget to check back in for another post next week - more adventure, sparkles and, naturally, the inevitable return of my beloved Pink Tutu!
Until then, have a truly pinktastic day!
See ya soon!
With love, Pink Tutu Sparkles
