Newtownards: Pink Tutu Sparkles Flies High!
Darlings, how's my gorgeous lot? Did you all have a fabulous week? Did you dance your socks off? Me too! I had an absolutely smashing time in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. It was so lovely to meet my dear friends, my adoring fans, and even make a few new ones. But more on all that later, my sweeties, let me tell you all about this week's grand adventures.
You see, as you know, your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles lives for the joy of travel! Whether it's hopping aboard a steam train or cantering through the countryside on a magnificent steed (just the dream, honestly!), there's nothing more exciting than seeing new sights and making new memories. And when those travels are decked out in a fabulous pink tutu? Well, that's just the icing on the pink cupcake, darling!
This week's trip began, as always, with a touch of pre-travel shopping. You see, my loves, no travel is complete without a dazzling outfit fit for a queen! I must confess I treated myself to a brand new feather boa and a pair of diamante-encrusted ballet shoes. (Can't have your Pink Tutu Sparkles looking anything less than fabulous, now can we?)
Then it was time for my favourite part: the journey! The train journey, as you know, is an absolute dream. Itās so relaxing and serene. Imagine a hot cup of tea, some gossipy magazines and all the time in the world to enjoy the view of rolling green fields whizzing past the window. A pure slice of calm before the storm of Newtownards!
As soon as I arrived, I just knew I was in for a treat. This vibrant town welcomed me with open arms (and a charming little gift shop filled with everything pink!) and I could already feel the electric atmosphere buzzing in the air. I swear, it must have been all that pink! I headed straight to the local community center where I had booked to perform that evening.
I canāt tell you just how excited I was. Performing at such a unique venue with a local audience, full of eager faces, made the adrenaline rush through my veins! You know, sometimes when you step onto that stage and see the first row full of bright eyes, everything fades away. All you feel is a deep connection to your audience, a yearning to share your love for dancing and glitz. I just wanted to sweep everyone off their feet with a sprinkle of pink, and they definitely felt it. The crowd roared with applause after my routine, even calling out āEncore, encore!ā Oh, my dears, the best part is they were calling for āMore pink tutu!ā Now, isn't that the dream, darling?
But before the performance, the local ballet academy took me under their wing for an exclusive masterclass! (Just imagine the sparkle! Me, surrounded by all that pink and all those twirling young talents - divine!) It was an absolute joy teaching these enthusiastic youngsters some new routines, all in a symphony of swirling pink. And you know me, I just had to sneak in a pink tutu and a little twinkle tutorial too!
Talking about ballet, thereās nothing quite like a good ol' theatrical performance. You know me, I absolutely adore it! Thereās magic in every swish of the satin skirt, every graceful leap, and every passionate pirouette. Luckily, Newtownards had an amazing theater just a few minutes away! Itās been my tradition ever since I started travelling in drag to treat myself to a bit of a cultural treat in every new location, and my goodness, did this place not disappoint. I sat, my eyes wide with wonder, enthralled by a captivating production of āSleeping Beauty.ā You can tell me Iām exaggerating all you like, but the scenery was more exquisite than my feather boa and the music? My dear, it was like angels singing a lullaby just for me.
The following day, it was time for a well-deserved stroll through Newtownards, which was just the kind of scenic treat I needed. This little haven, my darlings, is truly brimming with character, so I found a cosy corner of a bustling local cafƩ and sipped my pink milkshake (well, it had a pink straw at least!). As I took a bite of a raspberry cupcake, I noticed a friendly little cat napping in a sunbeam. Just perfect for an Instagram photo opportunity! But even better, the locals were so warm and welcoming. They invited me to a lively folk festival with traditional Irish music, complete with fiddle tunes and some charming dancing, all under a gorgeous pink and blue sky!
And while I was at it, I stumbled upon the most adorable little charity shop. Naturally, my eye caught a fabulous, fluffy, bright pink hat with matching gloves! Do you think they'd fit with my new diamante shoes? What a magnificent fashion statement, darling! They reminded me so much of a fairytale, I couldnāt leave without purchasing the little gem. It truly reminded me, as we all need reminded every now and then, that helping others can be just as rewarding as buying new glittery accessories!
Of course, you just can't visit a place like this without indulging in some local cuisine! My favourite? That delicious homemade strawberry ice cream! So fresh and light! I savoured each mouthful, my mind filled with memories of all those pink tutus and the amazing performances. This whole journey had been an incredible tapestry of experiences that had filled me with joy, kindness and love!
All in all, my time in Newtownards was truly extraordinary! There was laughter, dance, magic, a pinch of adventure, and of course, lots of pink. (Just how I like it!) And you know, that's just the thing I love most about this life. Every place has something different to offer, but the universal language of joy and acceptance unites everyone. So darling, remember, even in your own little corner of the world, thereās always a spark of magic waiting to be discovered. Just don't forget your pink tutu, darling.
See you in the next post, and as always, stay sparkly!
Love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles.
