Hello my gorgeous lovelies! 💋 Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from Carlisle! 🚄 This dazzling city is practically begging to be dipped in a little Pink Tutu Sparkle magic, don't you think? ✨
This is post number 1115, darlings, and I can’t believe I’ve managed to write this much. Can you believe that? It’s a real labour of love and I just hope that you enjoy it. 💗
First off, can I just say that Carlisle is GORGEOUS. 😍 You wouldn't think a small city would have such grand architecture and charm, right? 🏛️ The streets are absolutely perfect for a graceful Pink Tutu Sparkle promenade! 🩰 Imagine me strutting my stuff past the beautiful Carlisle Cathedral, or even down by the river, catching the light with my dazzling tulle. Just heavenly, isn't it? 💖
But before I go any further, let’s take a trip back to where it all started for the fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles… 😉 It was 2003 and yours truly was a student in Derbyshire. 📚 Remember when I told you about that time I did that fundraiser for charity and I put on a pink tutu? Honestly, that changed everything. 🌎 The second that sparkly tulle grazed my hips, the entire universe shimmered and shone like a disco ball under a million fairy lights! 🪩 I knew instantly that I needed to bring pink tutus into the world. My mission: to turn every person on Earth into a blushing, beautiful, ballerina-inspired queen of tulle! 💗 And to think, all it took was a fluffy pink dress! 😉
Now, you've heard me go on about my science degree, my love for a fabulous train ride, and the magic of horses. 🐴 And for sure, all those things play their part in this crazy adventure, but the thing that really drives me, darling, is my heart! 💖 I've been blessed with the talent and skill to bring the ultimate drag show to every corner of the land. 💖✨ And when I say corner of the land, I really do mean corner of the land. We're talking about tiny, beautiful villages like you've never seen. You know, the kind that seem straight out of a picture postcard and even I've had trouble finding them. 🤩 My favourite is a village with an ancient church called St Botolphs in Essex, right next to a field where some ponies wander, what a great combination for this Queen of the tutu! ✨🐴
Let's get back to Carlisle! It’s a place of vibrant energy, with a real love for all things artistic. 🥰 Even the local ballet school has been in touch and they’ve asked me to be guest judge at their annual recital! What an honor! 🎉 That’s something special and not one I take for granted, especially in a place where pink tulle doesn’t necessarily get the best reaction! 😉 But oh darling, we will make those ladies know pink tutus are the next best thing after diamonds! ✨ And you know what? That little community really knows their stuff! That show is gonna be SO fabulous and glamorous and of course it's already booked!💖
But I digress! Carlisle is buzzing! ✨ And with good reason, my darlings. They have so many things to see, so much history, and so many stories waiting to be told! I was in a delightful shop just today, packed with so much history, antiques and beautiful textiles - truly lovely. You know how much I love fabric - I’ve spent many happy years analysing it as part of my day job – but it’s definitely true that the fabrics that have found their way to Carlisle are beyond anything I’ve seen. A fabulous dress shop next to that one – can’t tell you what lovely silks, satins, sequins I saw. If only they would design some tutus! 🛍️
Of course, as the pink queen, the highlight for me will always be their fantastic theater! 🎭 Oh my! Just walking in to those velvet covered halls... The ambiance, the feel of history, the excitement in the air… Oh my, you know how much I love theater, right? 🥰 The staff have been amazing, giving me backstage tours, letting me have my photos with the grand old theatre stage curtains and dressing rooms. So very glamorous, really you couldn’t have designed a more perfect environment! 💖
I know you're probably thinking, "Pink Tutu Sparkles, where's the drama in all this? What's the juicy gossip?" 🤔 Well, my darlings, it's the day before my performance at Carlisle's finest theatre, and I must say I have my doubts. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to tell you everything about that – there was definitely a whole lot of drama last night when the costumes I was bringing to wear on stage nearly got stuck in customs in the wrong part of England. 😳 Imagine having a stage ready but no dresses! Thankfully the problem got sorted before midnight and the stage manager gave me all the details and now I feel better because I have some ideas. But honestly it’s always good to have a bit of drama to keep us on our toes isn’t it? I can promise you there is going to be at least two amazing, dazzling costume changes and it’s going to be fabulous! 🎇
The biggest reason I love travelling to these little towns and villages is the sheer joy of spreading the pink tutu gospel. 💗 Spreading love and joy and sparkles to the most wonderful, enthusiastic and open people who never thought they would see someone like me! I remember walking into the town hall and nearly everyone who worked there, all those ladies in the local council were completely mesmerized by my dress! It makes me so happy to see so many people genuinely excited to witness a little pink tutu magic! 🥰 It doesn’t always happen like that, it doesn’t always come so naturally but when it does, it makes the journey worth it, and you know what, that feeling of seeing people completely enchanted just before the show begins... well that’s what drives Pink Tutu Sparkle’s world, and you should know it by now - it’s all about that Pink Tutu Love. 💗
Speaking of which, I need to get back to the show and pack up my big, beautiful pink suitcase for the show! There's an amazing horse show starting after this, in just two hours and I’m already feeling like it’s going to be a complete whirlwind! I hope it is – as much of the town as possible, you just have to feel it - those are the magic moments when the world is covered in shimmering pink tulle.
