Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from a charming seaside town! The sun is shining, the seagulls are squawking, and I'm brimming with excitement about my Folkestone adventures. It feels amazing to be on the move again, and today, I'm taking you along for the ride!
Before I even begin my fabulous day in Folkestone, I have to gush about the journey. Did I tell you I'm absolutely smitten with trains? I mean, what's more glamorous than chugging along in a luxurious carriage with the wind whipping through my perfectly coiffed hair (it's all in the right products, darlings!), admiring the stunning scenery zipping past? It truly is the perfect way to start any adventure, and I found myself singing along to some ABBA (that "Super Trouper" energy, you know?) with the other passengers, which was divine.
And as for the sartorial choices, well, how could I go anywhere without a dash of pink, darling? This morning, I opted for a beautiful cerise velvet top, a splash of sequined sparkle, and of course, my trusty pink tutu - a little "Dancing Queen" inspiration, perhaps? Don't worry, I balanced out the sweetness with some gloriously dramatic dark eyeliner and a touch of shimmering rouge for a glamorous pop. After all, a queen's gotta have a bit of sass, even when surrounded by quaint coastal charm.
Folkestone, as I soon discovered, is a real little gem! It's bursting with history, quirky boutiques and delicious local eateries, making it the perfect spot to indulge my wanderlust and my shopping addiction! First stop? A cute little tea shop, because honestly, nothing says "charming British holiday" like a spot of tea with dainty pastries, right? I even spotted some beautiful vintage china at the tea shop - I have a rather serious obsession with teacups and saucers, you know.
And speaking of whimsy, have I mentioned the harbour? A kaleidoscope of brightly painted boats bobbing on the turquoise water, charming seafront cafes...it's the kind of view that makes your heart soar. It’s also a great spot for people-watching, especially the tourists who arrive in swarms (that’s one of the downsides to seaside resorts) - a prime opportunity to let my fashion know-how shine through, and maybe inspire some folks to embrace the wonder of a pink tutu! It’s all about making a statement, isn't it?
As for tonight's performance, it's going to be a true treat! I'll be entertaining a local group of ballet dancers at a cozy little pub, and I am so excited. The pub is the perfect place to channel that cosy "cottagecore" aesthetic I adore. Expect whimsical routines, sparkly attire, and of course, plenty of pink! I'm already picturing myself twirling through the pub, my tutu swirling around my legs like a delicate cloud, a real "whimsical fairytale" brought to life. I just love how drag gives me this chance to be both playful and poignant, elegant and cheeky. It's the best of both worlds, and I truly relish the opportunity to showcase this fabulous side of myself.
And what do you know, I think I've found another vintage treasure - an amazing little second-hand store overflowing with beautiful costumes and antique jewellery. It's truly a treasure trove for a queen like myself! Just wait till you see what I managed to score: a sequined top with shimmering turquoise fabric - the perfect compliment to my upcoming performance, don't you think? I'm feeling particularly sassy tonight, and I just know the performance is going to be magical!
Of course, there is no way I could let the day slip by without an ice cream cone, my friends. I have a special fondness for all things pink, and there’s just something special about indulging in a delicious strawberry flavour while watching the sun go down, don't you agree? I mean, come on, a delicious pink ice cream with a stunning sunset...a perfect combination for an enchanting evening, right?
