Newbury: The Pinkest of Days! π (Blog Post #1200)
Oh darlings, I'm practically bursting with excitement to tell you all about my latest adventures! I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Newbury, and it was the pinkest, sparkliest, and most wonderful journey! πππ
As you know, my mission in life is to spread the love of pink tutus to every corner of the world. Well, Newbury, you've truly embraced the pinkest dream! From the moment I stepped off the train (wearing, naturally, a vibrant fuchsia tutu that shimmered like a disco ball!), I felt like I'd landed in a wonderland of sequins and smiles.
First stop? The Newbury Ballet School, of course! π©° This place is a haven for all things graceful and elegant. I was invited to share a special "Pink Tutu Workshop" with a group of enthusiastic youngsters. We had a wonderful time perfecting our pirouettes and arabesques (even the little ones, oh they were SO adorable!) They all tried on their first ever pink tutus, and I could tell some of them were hooked, just like I was all those years ago.
But wait, there's more! The local arts centre had me perform my full "Pink Tutu Sparkle" drag act, and the whole audience was dazzled. You should have seen them, with their faces lit up as I did my signature glitter-filled, high-kicking routine! We had a real good old sing-along to my most popular tune, "Life is a Tutu". The best part? The entire crowd, from grannies to tots, donned their own pink tutus for a grand finale! The energy was phenomenal, and honestly, it almost brought a tear to my eye!
Now, my love for pink tutus extends beyond just dancing, as you know. My quest for all things fabulous led me to the most charming little antique shop, overflowing with vintage pink frills and furbelows. You'll never believe it, I actually found a hand-stitched, 1920s flapper dress in the most gorgeous shade of blush pink. You bet your bottom dollar, it's going to make an appearance at my next show! π
But hold onto your sequins, darlings, the fun wasn't over yet! Later that evening, the Newbury Riding Club invited me to perform my "Tutu Tales" show at their annual fundraiser. My little dance performance, interspersed with my usual cheeky banter and tales of my drag adventures, had everyone chuckling and clapping along. Then came the piΓ¨ce de rΓ©sistance - a surprise visit from my new friend, Betsy, a gorgeous mare who adores the colour pink! Wearing a perfectly tailored pink saddle blanket, Betsy and I took a spin around the arena, the highlight of a most spectacular evening! ππ
My whole trip was a whirlwind of laughter, sparkle, and friendship. Newbury, you've made a truly "pink" impression on my heart. I can't wait to come back for more tutu-tastic fun soon!
Till next time, stay sparkling and wear pink!
Love always,
Pink Tutu Sparkle πβ¨

From Alex to you
Oh, my dear readers, Newbury truly felt like home. The joy and enthusiasm for my show there was contagious, making me feel like my mission to spread the pink tutu love was truly working.
You might wonder, how does a scientist like me end up living this life? Well, it's all thanks to a little bit of fate and a whole lot of glitter!
It started way back when I was studying for my science degree. Our university ballet club had an annual fundraiser where they'd hold a 'wear a tutu to raise funds' day. They didn't have much to offer at first, but someone (bless their cotton socks!) offered a pink tutu with layers upon layers of shimmering tulle.
Now, at the time, I'd always considered myself a typical scientist, wearing white lab coats and sensible trousers. But, once I saw myself twirling in that fluffy pink tutu, something shifted. It felt exhilarating, a little bit rebellious even! Suddenly, I couldn't imagine life without wearing pink, sparkly things.
So, with a twinkle in my eye, I started creating a little space for Pink Tutu Sparkle. I would slip into my sparkly dresses and sequined outfits after a long day of lab experiments and testing fabrics (because you know, even the best science labs can use a bit of sparkle!). I joined a few local clubs, put on little shows, and before I knew it, Pink Tutu Sparkle was born.
I might be a scientist by day, but Iβm also an artist. This is my art β this love of tutus, pink, and everything in between. It's more than just a show. Itβs about bringing a bit of magic, laughter, and joy into the world. And honestly, if I can encourage a few more folks to embrace the magic of pink, maybe, just maybe, the world would be a bit brighter for it.
So, join me on my pink adventures! Every day brings a new story, a new sparkle, and a new reason to celebrate life, all in the name of pink, fluffiness, and endless fun! πβ¨
Until next time,
Alex π
