Melton Mowbray has always been a special place for me. It's home to a bustling market, delectable pork pies (oh, the flaky pastry and succulent filling!), and a genuine, welcoming spirit. But today, I'm here for something truly spectacular - a night under the starry Leicestershire skies, performing for a delightful crowd at a community theatre! ✨
You know how I am: I love to travel by any means possible, but I must confess a fondness for train journeys! The rhythmic clattering of wheels, the ever-changing scenery, the charming chat with fellow passengers... It's the perfect opportunity to don my finest frock, maybe even a pink hat, and truly embrace my fabulous inner TutuQueen. My recent journey to Melton Mowbray was a joy! A warm, friendly conductor, breathtaking views of rolling countryside, and the delicious scent of fresh, floral perfume that I always seem to find on train platforms – all added to the magic of the journey.
My Melton Mowbray escapade wasn't a solo mission, though! Joining me on the adventure were the stunningly talented Buttercup Beautie and the effortlessly glamorous Princess Puffball - my drag family! Together, we're an unstoppable force of sequins and smiles. ✨
Speaking of sparkles, you just wouldn't believe the pink tutu I donned for this special performance! My good friend, a master tailor named Archibald, crafted this masterpiece just for me! He always manages to capture the essence of my love for pink in a unique and dazzling way! I'm practically drowning in layers of fluttering tulle, all trimmed with the most gorgeous pink feather boas - it's simply divine!
Melton Mowbray turned out to be an incredibly warm and receptive audience! I could feel the energy buzzing in the room. And what's better than a cheering crowd? A cheering crowd dressed in pink tutus! 🎀 Seriously, you lovely Melton Mowbray locals just embraced my call for a #PinkTutuRevolution and filled the theatre with such a glorious burst of color! Seeing that sea of pink was truly heartwarming and filled my heart with an infectious joy.
It wasn't just my performance that was memorable - there was the pre-show preparation. Buttercup Beautie insisted on creating a themed snack platter – her pink cupcakes decorated with miniature ballerina figurines were absolutely scrumptious! Princess Puffball, the makeup queen, worked her magic with sparkly eye shadows and pink blush - and boy, do we look good together!
There were backstage moments too – stolen selfies under a twinkling theatre light, quick costume changes, and the shared giggle that comes from sharing a passion with two remarkable drag sisters! And then the magic started...
I truly feel the power of performance. Standing on that stage, I felt a sense of belonging, of freedom, and of radiating joy into the audience.
Each performance fuels my desire to inspire others to find the joy of expressing themselves.
