Lyon, Oh Lyon! Post #1339

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the dazzling city of Lyon! It’s a real treat to be here, in the heart of France, where the streets are a symphony of vibrant colours and the air is thick with the scent of freshly baked croissants. This fabulous adventure marks a very special chapter in my pink-tutu-studded life, one I’ll be reliving in my dreams for weeks to come!

Let’s just say I landed in Lyon with a grand flourish, shall we? The train journey from Paris was absolutely delightful. I was sporting my latest pink tutu creation, a dazzling confection of silk and tulle with just a hint of sparkle, of course! And just as the train rolled into the Gare de Lyon Perrache, I felt that familiar spark – the one that sets my heart aflutter, that reminds me why I love my life in this wonderfully theatrical pink tutu of mine!

I must tell you, darling, this city has been positively enchanting! I can’t even begin to describe the cobblestone streets, with their quaint cafes brimming with life and laughter, the quaint little boutiques overflowing with colourful clothes, and of course, the grand buildings that whisper tales of bygone eras. This city has stolen a little piece of my heart.

Speaking of heart-stealing, have I mentioned the theatre here? A vision of grandeur and charm, this exquisite place has hosted a kaleidoscope of talent over the years! The stage itself seems to pulse with excitement and the elegant seating seems to encourage contemplation. Just seeing it filled me with such a sense of joy and inspiration. My visit to the theatre was absolutely magical, not to mention an exquisite introduction to some of Lyon’s finest dancers, all swirling and twirling on stage, wearing tutus of course! It was the most elegant, breathtaking, and exhilarating ballet performance I have ever experienced.

And the shops here, oh my darling, they are heaven! There's a whole world of pink here waiting for a Pink Tutu Sparkles. You see, while Paris is known for its chic, and London is famed for its rock 'n' roll edge, Lyon embraces a sort of romantic bohemian flair. Imagine this: delicate lace trimmed tops in shades of blush, flowing maxi skirts adorned with intricate floral embroidery, and shoes… Oh darling, shoes that will make your heart skip a beat! And all bathed in a delightful rosy light! Needless to say, I went shopping. And it was, without doubt, one of my absolute favourite days here in Lyon.

Now, for you see, my life is about so much more than just pink tutus, much as I adore them. Yes, I admit it - I have a touch of wanderlust, a constant desire to discover new worlds. This yearning often leads me to new corners of the planet, allowing me to spread my own unique brand of pink-tutu magic across the world. The train remains a close favourite mode of transportation, especially if I’m traveling across Europe. You can always rely on a comfortable carriage for your wardrobe and all your little trinkets. I mean, my tutu is rather extensive and the occasional vintage headpiece needs all the care in the world! But every once in a while, when the call of the wild takes hold, I jump onto a horse and I set off on a long, beautiful ride across countryside trails! That wild wind in my hair! There's just something magical about traveling on horseback, you know? But more on that another time.

In between performances at a little local village festival – with audiences swooning at my signature moves and the sound of my sparkly pink tutu swishing across the stage! - I have been exploring Lyon. It is filled with such enchanting architecture. You can practically smell history as you stroll along these old cobbled streets. One of the absolute highlights of my time here was discovering a small café in the heart of Lyon's old city. There I sat in the sunshine, soaking up the warmth, with my glass of something fruity and sweet and the locals looking on in utter admiration at my pink tutu ensemble! The perfect blend of glamour and everyday, which is rather how I live my life.

I also spent an unforgettable evening indulging in a decadent spread of French delights at a restaurant nestled in a tranquil courtyard. Oh, the way the lights reflected on the sparkling Parisian skyline! It was pure magic. And, of course, a few bottles of French wine went down very well.

And to make things truly enchanting, I met a few lovely, very talented, up and coming drag queens! I must say that Lyon seems to be brimming with artists just waiting to take over the world with their own sparkling ideas and theatrical performances! So watch this space!

But you know, my travels are never about the destination. It's always about the journey, the stories we gather, the new friendships forged along the way. I may travel far and wide, spreading my message of self-expression, reminding the world that every one of us can shine brighter than a thousand stars, all in our own individual, magnificent way, all you have to do is find the perfect pink tutu for you! And yes, I know that means my mission, my passion, my goal - which is getting everybody on the planet to wear a pink tutu, will require time. Patience and perseverance, my darlings. It will happen!

Until next time, darling! Stay tuned, as Pink Tutu Sparkles continues her travels. And don’t forget to head on over to www.pink-tutu.com for more of your daily dose of Pink Tutu Sparkles! And be sure to join the #PinkTutuArmy movement!

Love, love, love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles!

P.S. Just a little update for you darlings on my science experiments. I have been working hard in the lab these past few months, analyzing a special type of pink feather. You see, these feathers come from a rather rare species of flamingo, the feathers that only glow pink under ultraviolet light. I am working on an extremely complicated scientific project that combines science with a pinch of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic and I think this just may lead to the greatest breakthrough in fabric science the world has ever seen. I'll let you know how it all works out, but you know me, it’s gonna be pink!
