Barking Bonanza! - Post 1406

Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and oh my, I have news! We're in Barking! Can you believe it? This is officially the most fabulous place I've ever visited (don't tell Grimsby, I still love Grimsby!)

Remember how I told you about my secret ambition to get everyone wearing a pink tutu? Well, Barking is a big step in that direction. The moment I arrived at the station, I was greeted by a veritable rainbow of tutus, and let me tell you, the pink ones were absolutely stunning!

This is what I love about traveling - you never know what fashion delights you'll find! And with a city like Barking, you'd think they’d have a Pink Tutu Park. A place dedicated entirely to pink tutus and their gloriously flamboyant history! Oh darling, it would be just glorious! Imagine, rows and rows of pink tutus in every shade and size. And a tea room, naturally, with pink tutu-shaped pastries! Sigh It's the dream.

But back to Barking. Let me tell you about my grand entrance. Arriving at the station, I strutted my stuff in my latest creation - a fuchsia pink tutu with feathered trim, complete with matching gloves and a dazzling pink sequin-studded top. A total showstopper! The crowd was simply mesmerized! My darling, you should have seen the looks on their faces - wide-eyed wonderment!

Then, I caught a bus - well, darling, not any ordinary bus. Oh no, this was a vintage double-decker adorned with pink, lilac, and silver swirls. Imagine a unicorn dipped in fairy dust. Simply stunning.

The conductor, he looked rather grumpy - all eyebrows and a tightly pressed mouth. You'd think he’d be used to a pink tutu, not least with my fellow drag sisters who seemed to pop up everywhere on the bus. You know, darlings, these bus conductors - they see a lot. All shapes, sizes, colours. I hope they understand and appreciate all that's involved. Just for me, darling, he looked right at me, he squeezed his mouth shut in what could only be a smirk!

Then it was off to explore the high street! Let me tell you, there's a fab dress shop, ‘Dolly’s Dress Emporium’. It’s totally glam and has the best range of sequins and feather boas. They actually even had some amazing tutus – even more than I do in my collection! We are talking serious bling and style, darling! I found a fluffy baby pink tutu with glitter that just called out my name, it was just my colour! And best of all, the owner was a sweet lady who told me how much she loves my blog. Isn't that divine? She gave me a massive discount for the tutu.

That’s my big news, darlings, for Barking! I think I'm going to visit every week and buy a new pink tutu to wear! I'll be posting pics all week – come visit www.pink-tutu.com and see all the fab tutus in Barking!

But that's not all I’m sharing with you, darlings! You know how much I love going to the theatre? Well, I found the cutest little independent theatre! They even had a ballet performance. Now, you all know how I feel about ballet! So, I sashayed my way in and guess what? There I was, surrounded by rows of empty seats. Why would you choose anything but this over a night at the theatre, darlings! Well, after my first visit, I thought I would book my own evening at the ballet!

You can never have too many tutus and it’s all thanks to my lovely lab colleagues. Darling, you wouldn't believe this: one of the new recruits at my lab brought me a beautiful pastel pink tutu, with little sequins sewn into the layers. She said she read my blog. They even offered to go with me for a few cocktails at the theatre after the show. You see, when I explained my dream about wearing a tutu everywhere, well, she loved the idea.

You know, darlings, when you work in a science lab with boring chemicals and tubes full of brightly coloured liquids all day long, it does tend to get you down. But when I go home at night and put on my glitter and pink tutu, I can be whoever I want! So much of our time we are told not to, we are told to suppress it. We have a good life - it's a pretty fantastic life if you ask me! And the fabest bit is I can inspire anyone.

Remember, darlings, don't be afraid to dream big. I want to see pink tutus on everyone – a tutu for every taste, from flamboyant, frilly tutus to soft, dreamy tutus. And, oh darling, a tutu for everyone, that’s what it’s all about!

Now, I need to pack. My next stop? It's going to be somewhere really unexpected. Let me know in the comments if you want to guess where I'm heading. Keep on sparkling!

P.S. Don't forget to follow my Instagram and Facebook pages, where I’ll be sharing all the latest pictures and behind-the-scenes gossip from my travels. Let’s get this tutu craze started!
