Newbury Calling! - Post #1458

Hello darlings! It's your TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Are you ready to twirl? Because I certainly am, and Newbury is where it’s all happening. It feels fabulous to be back on the road, the wind whipping through my fabulous pink tutu, travelling by horse! Okay, a bit of a stretch there – it was actually a beautiful, antique-looking train with the most glorious scarlet plush seating! I might have even gotten a few sideways glances and the odd raised eyebrow when I strolled into the carriage, but hey, who wouldn't love to be transported by the elegance of a pink tutu?

I tell you, finding the right venue to perform in has been a real rollercoaster! One minute it's a packed-out fair, where everyone seems thrilled to see a pink-clad queen, and the next minute it's a quiet village pub with more cobwebs than customers. But I keep the faith, dear readers, because that's the heart and soul of this travelling tutu life, the thrill of the unknown!

Before we dive into the fabulousness of Newbury, let’s catch up! It’s been a whirlwind, let me tell you! Firstly, who’d have thought a scientist would be living life in a pink tutu? Life is full of delightful surprises! I must admit, the lab was feeling a tad, well, boring, so my heart was filled with joy when I managed to find the time to sneak off and strut my stuff on a stage. My fellow lab colleagues, especially Mr. Thompson, think it’s quite "extra" as they say - but hey, they just don’t get the magic of a pink tutu. Maybe I should let them borrow one… ( Just kidding – but then again, what a great idea! Perhaps a pink tutu makeover for the entire lab?! Oh, darling, the possibilities! squee)

Newbury! This enchanting town is full of charming nooks and crannies. We’ve been strolling the high street and admiring the beautiful antique shops - some with surprisingly excellent tutu potential! There’s one with these fluffy, lavender coloured, vintage feather boas I could have died for! It's all in the mix, isn't it, my dears? The tutu, the feathers, the antique trinkets, it’s just the right combination of glam and whimsy.

And my trip to Newbury wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beautiful Newbury Theatre. Imagine my delight, dear reader! A whole performance dedicated to the ballet! With my tutu bouncing in the seat beside me (because no proper ballerina, or TutuQueen for that matter, would dare not wear her trusty tutu!) we were mesmerised! The dancers were truly a sight to behold – grace, beauty, and poise all wrapped into one breathtaking performance. If there's one thing I adore about these performances it's how graceful everyone looks, which is an absolutely impossible look to achieve without one thing – a pink tutu.

To add to the already fabtastic week, Newbury also hosts the most splendid ballet class! It’s almost like my dreams have come true, learning graceful balletic movements whilst wrapped in a voluminous pink tutu, amongst a sea of aspiring ballerinas – just fabulous!

I can’t help but wonder – why do we as a society, seem to lose ourselves as we grow up, discarding the delights of a playful, magical childhood? My tutu mission, you see, is about spreading a bit of that joyful sparkle, a bit of that whimsical enchantment, through the glorious wonder of the pink tutu. Perhaps we’d be more joyful, kinder and brighter if we embraced our inner child just a little bit more?

But I do need a good old rest. Travelling and performing, darling, is exhausting work! However, when I’m feeling utterly spent, it’s a lovely sensation to know that there is always another pink tutu ready to pick me up and put me right back into the centre of all the joyful sparkly chaos of it all.

Until tomorrow darlings, and always remember – if you feel down or lost, the answer, my dears, might be a pink tutu!
