Welling, darling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Has Arrived!

Helloooo my darlings, and welcome to post number 1459 on www.pink-tutu.com! I hope you are all doing wonderfully well and wearing your fabulous pink tutus wherever you may be. I'm currently in Welling, a truly delightful spot, with a touch of vintage charm that has Pink Tutu Sparkles simply bursting with inspiration.

This journey began as usual - a trip by train, with a trolley full of costumes and make-up - my favourite way to travel, you know! And my train ride was even more fabulous than usual, thanks to the delightful gentleman in the opposite seat who couldn't resist offering me a sip of his Prosecco - well, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without a little bubbly!

Welling itself is a charming town full of lovely, quirky shops with friendly staff - and you know how much Pink Tutu Sparkles loves shopping, especially for pink items, so it was an absolute treat! Imagine my joy at finding a vintage dress shop overflowing with 1950s dresses, just the kind of treasures I love to sprinkle through my drag performances. I snapped up a dress of pale pink silk with a generous dose of sparkles and a fluffy pink boa to top it all off. The woman who owns the shop is an absolute angel, she knows her fabrics like the back of her hand and told me a funny story about how she used to wear tutus as a child - clearly a woman of good taste!

After a spot of shopping, it was time for some lunch. Oh my dear friends, the tea room is something to behold, and the scones are absolutely to die for! A symphony of pink and white in every direction - truly the stuff of my dreams! You know I'm a massive fan of all things pink, and this little tearoom is the absolute epitome of pink-tastic! I stuffed myself with scone upon scone - well, wouldn't want to disappoint the pink godess, would I?!

No trip is complete without a visit to the local theatre, so of course, Pink Tutu Sparkles headed straight to the local production of "Swan Lake". And you'll be amazed - this place actually has a real-life tutu museum! Now you've got to admit that's truly unique, don't you? The tutus there were a feast for the eyes, with so many styles and colours from over the years - I spent almost an hour just gawking at their perfection, each one more magnificent than the last! It was truly inspirational and gave me so many new ideas for my performances - a good old-fashioned, tulle-inspired extravaganza perhaps? Why not!

As evening descended, the air hummed with anticipation for my upcoming performance in the Town Hall. The space was stunning - I was going to sparkle even brighter than the decorations! And of course, a beautiful pink backdrop is the most essential element of a good Pink Tutu Sparkles show. I always try to include local talent, and tonight was no exception, a young chap from Welling's local ballet school took the stage with a daring pas de deux. It really went down a treat!

Afterwards, we celebrated in the back of the Town Hall with the locals. You know how Pink Tutu Sparkles loves to share a glass of bubbly and laugh the night away. The dancing went on late into the evening. The ladies (and gents) were so gracious, everyone loved dancing to Pink Tutu Sparkles' signature performance - "The Tutu Shuffle", a joyful whirl through a pink, sparkling haze! You should see me do it! And I couldn't resist ending the night by prompting a group performance involving the "Tutu Shake", which, naturally, went down a storm. It seems everyone can learn a thing or two from Pink Tutu Sparkles when it comes to tutus. It’s all about getting in the mood!

The real stars of my Welling trip weren't the glamorous lights of the theatre or the adorable shop fronts, but the locals, my darlings. Every one of them embodied the kind and gentle heart of this little town - the kind of energy I'm so lucky to experience. They showed such great kindness to Pink Tutu Sparkles, offering generous helpings of tea and endless compliments. The Welling locals really stole my heart, their warmth and spirit remind me of the lovely Derbyshire countryside where I was born.

There you have it, dear reader, the magic of Welling. Pink Tutu Sparkles is off to even bigger and bolder adventures. Next stop - Bath. Don’t miss the blog next week for all the exciting updates, you won't want to miss it! I'll leave you with a piece of advice - follow the rainbow! You never know where it might lead you, my darlings.

See you next week, don't forget your pink tutu!

XOXO,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
