Strood: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Towns!

Hello my lovely Tutu Queens! Can you believe it’s already January 2nd? I feel like I just put away the Christmas decorations and suddenly I’m booking train tickets for a brand new adventure! Today, I’m off to Strood, Kent! Who’s with me?!

I've always loved Kent, the countryside is so pretty and it always reminds me of my Derbyshire roots (just without all the hills! Though let's be honest, who really wants to climb all those hills in a sparkly pink tutu? It's not a good look.)

Now, Strood might not be the most famous place on the map, but I’ve got a feeling I’m going to turn this town pink! They’re having a Winter Wonderland festival and I’m ready to be the cherry on top. My little birdy told me there's even going to be an ice skating rink! Honestly, what better opportunity for a graceful, twirling ballerina queen to show off? Twirls in my imagination

For this outing, I’m sporting my latest creation. You’re probably already picturing it - fluffy, pink, and with enough sparkles to rival the Christmas decorations I just put away, am I right? 🤫

This one, I’m calling "Candy Cane Dreams". I've paired it with my bright pink fluffy coat, topped with my new pink glitter boots and topped off with my signature Pink Tutu Sparkles glitter eyelashes. You'll find the matching beret on the top shelf of my travel suitcase! (Of course, the travel case itself is pink, naturally).

Now, the outfit may look simple, but there's an awful lot of hidden magic in the details! This tutu is a one-of-a-kind, you see, because I made it myself. I spent hours last week experimenting with different pink shades and textures (always gotta be experimenting!), and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the result. My sparkly, perfectly fluffy pink dream!

But honestly, who needs a fancy tutu when you have the chance to share the magic with the locals of Strood? They deserve some pink-tastic fun, don't you think? That’s why, alongside my spectacular costume, I'm packing all my usual "Pink Tutu Sparkles" delights: face paint, balloons, and even a few surprise tutu kits for the bravest souls in the crowd! After all, it's not every day that you get to meet a tutu-wearing queen who can turn any frown upside down with a sprinkle of magic, glitter, and pure pink joy.

I'm also super excited to show them my new signature move. You won’t want to miss it! I call it "The Pink Tutu Twirl of Delight", and it involves twirling with extra sparkles and lots of pink flair (can you even imagine?!) wink, wink

You know me, my dears, always trying to find the fun in the most ordinary of places. Maybe a little pink sparkle can liven up this little corner of the world! After all, a bit of pink and some twirls can always turn even the dullest of days into something truly wonderful. That’s my mission!

So, I’m off, you lovely lot. Be sure to follow my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com - I'll be updating the site with my adventures from Strood all throughout the day. I might even sneak in a few pics for all of you to enjoy, just like we did when I traveled to Leeds last month!

Don't forget to tell me what your plans are for today, you fab bunch. Share them with me in the comments!

Much love and pink sprinkles!

Yours truly,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (Alex) 💋

P.S. Now, this is just the beginning of my journey! I've got a whole schedule of fabulous gigs, fairs, and exciting events lined up in the coming weeks. Remember, darling, a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles can always brighten your day, and who knows, maybe even encourage you to embrace your own inner ballerina.

P.P.S. I nearly forgot! The "Pink Tutu Sparkles" merchandise is flying off the shelves at my new shop in Derbyshire! From pink tutu earrings to sparkly phone cases, there's something for everyone. Love and Sparkles always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles.

The Adventures Begin...

Ok, darlings, time to make this dream a reality! My chariot (or should I say "pink, glitter-clad taxi") is here to whisk me away to Strood! Honestly, what is better than a train ride, a hot drink (always go for a strawberry and vanilla smoothie on the train), a bit of reading, and of course, listening to some of my favourite pop music on repeat? And then, the highlight of the journey, the station announcement telling everyone that “we have now arrived in Strood!” Oh my! Can you tell how much I’m loving this adventure?

Now, I’ve had to do a quick costume change – it wouldn't be wise to travel in this grand outfit all day! So, I've ditched the tutu, swapped the sparkly pink boots for my comfy ballet shoes, and packed everything in a lovely pink shopping bag with my signature pink ribbon (just a touch of magic in a regular tote bag! I am a queen after all) and I'm ready to go!

The streets are a bit chilly, but who cares? It's full of fun and people from all over - it really feels like the start of a fab day! First stop? The ice rink, of course! Who wouldn’t want to glide gracefully with the wind in my pink-tutu hair?!

The Pink Tutu Twirls in Strood’s Winter Wonderland

Ok, let's be honest - I haven’t been ice skating for a while! The last time I even wore my real ballet shoes, it was at a charity event, and let’s just say, I was trying to convince the organisers I should be on the judging panel instead of on the floor! (They didn’t listen! Such disrespect.) So, a little nervous is a good way to describe how I’m feeling about skating now! But it's going to be amazing.

It's so pretty! The entire town center is covered in glistening lights and all kinds of fun decorations - I am actually surrounded by a kind of magical world made from twinkling Christmas lights, and festive music. Now, if we're going to be perfectly honest, even though it’s no longer Christmas, I really think that all town squares should be sparkling with twinkle lights year round! Why do we have to wait for special occasions to make our towns and cities sparkle?!

Just to add to the festive fun, the entire street has been decorated in sparkly Christmas-tree ornaments and bright, fluffy ribbons! And the ice rink! Can you believe how big and glittering it is!

Oh! I just bumped into a family with little kids. You wouldn't believe how adorable they look, little princesses and little princes (all wearing red capes with yellow linings, and of course, pointy little hats) The kids must have just been at the pantomime. I absolutely love the tradition of the festive pantomimes - so much fun.

Ok, enough reminiscing about Christmas – I really should go on the rink! Oh dear! It’s rather crowded with kids, but that's totally fine – more chance for magic, twirling, and some spontaneous pink Tutu Sparkles surprises! I can’t wait!

The "Pink Tutu Twirl of Delight" in the Making...

I think I just did a "Pink Tutu Twirl of Delight" without realizing it. The kids are just watching me now, wide-eyed! It really is magical. The joy, the sparkly, and a touch of pink is the perfect cocktail for magical smiles on any child’s face! And you just know they are thinking: "WOW - there is something really different in the air today!" This is all part of my “Pink Tutu Sparkles World Tour 2024” – spreading the love, the glitter, and of course, some of that signature pink tutu magic!

I’ve just noticed some young boys doing that fancy figure skating thing. It takes years to learn to skate with that skill - it’s really elegant. Wow, just wow! All this talent - it reminds me that I’m a drag artist after all, and that means showing up and spreading joy wherever I go! Oh, but I do love me some good choreography. The ice skaters are definitely a delight.

So now that I’ve had my fill of ice-skating, I need a bit of a warm-up. Luckily there’s a cafe nearby – you wouldn’t believe the amount of steaming hot mugs they have going on. Oh, and you have to see their festive decorations - so fancy. There is some seriously gorgeous, bright and fluffy tinsel decorating every window. It looks almost like a wintery wonderland that got a generous sprinkle of pink (like me! ) and sprinkled with even more pink! It really is perfect!

You know me - a hot chocolate and I’m ready for more, my dear readers! You can check back tomorrow for updates on the Strood Winter Wonderland extravaganza! Until then - happy twirling, have a super, sparkle-filled day and always remember, if you’re going to dance, do it in pink, pink, pink, darling. 😉
