Oh my darlings! How's everyone doing this glorious Thursday? The sun's shining, the birds are singing, and yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is ready to glitter and twirl her way to Beeston!
But first, a spot of tea, darling!
So, as you all know, I live for a good adventure. And what could be more fabulous than a trip to Beeston? I've heard whisperings of gorgeous cafes and fabulous independent shops, plus there's a ballet class happening on Saturday morning. Can you believe it?! My heart is absolutely bursting with excitement.
This adventure started a couple of days ago when I stumbled across a photo on Instagram - a shot of Beeston Square in the most beautiful late afternoon light, with those gorgeous Victorian houses. I immediately knew I needed to be there. And that, my dears, is the sign of a true traveller: you never know what will spark your curiosity, but you follow it wherever it leads you.
Now, I'm sure you're all wondering how exactly I'm going to get to Beeston. Well, naturally, a journey demands an entrance. And for this one, there's only one choice: a train ride in the most spectacular outfit I can find!
I've already got my eyes set on a majestic, pale pink feathered jacket. It’ll make a truly eye-catching statement next to the most exquisite pink tulle tutu I have ever laid my eyes on. I'm thinking maybe a touch of pearly embellishment on the shoulders, and some gorgeous pink feathers trailing from the hem of the tutu… You can see it now, can't you? Fabulous! I’ll be travelling first class of course, because every queen deserves a little luxury. I’ll grab myself a good book, put on some sultry opera music, and bask in the glory of my incredible ensemble.
And Beeston, prepare yourself! Because I'll be making a grand entrance, my dears. Think fireworks, glitter, and the most enchanting song you've ever heard. Oh, I can’t wait for all the sparkle and magic we're going to create together!
Oh, did I mention that my Beeston performance is already booked! I'm going to be strutting my stuff at the Town Square. And what’s more, I’ll be joined by a talented local drag queen whose style is inspired by the history of the town’s lace industry. I simply can't wait to witness her artistry and I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing the stage with such a lovely and talented queen!

But hold on a moment, you might be thinking… "How does Alex even manage to travel and do drag shows while having a day job?".
It's a fair question, and one I'm often asked. Here's the truth: it's a tightrope walk. You see, my day job as a fabric analyst means I'm surrounded by some of the most exquisite materials imaginable. I love analysing the weave, the textures, the sheer beauty of every single thread. It's almost like ballet in a laboratory. I'm in a constant state of creative excitement. It fuels my drag.
And then there’s my second life as Pink Tutu Sparkles! I put all that excitement into every single performance. It's my passion, my art, my reason for being. The joy on people's faces, the way they're swept up in the music and the costumes, the absolute magic in their eyes – it's just breathtaking.
The world can be a rather dull and predictable place, you know? But drag, my dears, is like a portal to pure joy and liberation. We’re about self-expression, breaking down boundaries, embracing creativity, and spreading sparkle and happiness wherever we go! And, let’s be honest, there’s never been a better time for a sparkle-infused adventure!
