Small Heath Calling! Post #1480 - Tutu Queen Takes On Birmingham!

Hello, my lovelies! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles, your favourite fashionista, here, ready to share another fabulous adventure with you. This time, I've traded my high heels for sturdy boots (well, high-heeled boots, but you know what I mean!) and I'm taking on the cobbled streets of Birmingham. The excitement is bubbling over like a bottle of Prosecco on a summer's day, just waiting to pop!

But first, darling, let's talk fashion. Remember the gorgeous coral-pink feathered boa I got myself last week? It's become a must-have for any self-respecting tutu queen! You just have to layer it over everything: your favourite sparkly top, a fitted black jumpsuit, or even a pair of denim shorts! And trust me, this boa adds a dash of playful elegance that will make you feel like the star of your very own show.

Now, back to our Birmingham escapade. Small Heath, the heart of this bustling city, was calling my name. And who can resist a city with such a rich history? Not this girl, I can tell you. I arrived in style, of course, via the majestic Midland Metro (always a win, you see, when it comes to keeping up the fairytale vibe)! I had my trusty overnight bag filled with a multitude of glittering options: a shimmering turquoise tutu with silver sequined straps, a delicate lilac chiffon gown, and my pièce de résistance: a shocking pink tutu trimmed with fluffy white pom-poms - oh, the joy!

Now, you'd think Small Heath, with its charming markets and quaint streets, would be a haven for all things girly and delightful, right? Wrong! The cobblestone streets held a bit more of a “rough-around-the-edges” feel to them, so my high-heeled boots needed some careful maneuvering!

I spent the first day soaking up the local colour - literally! Birmingham is bursting with colourful markets, offering a kaleidoscope of handcrafted treasures, vintage finds, and irresistible street food. And oh, the smells! From the delicate aroma of fresh herbs to the rich scent of freshly baked bread, it was an assault on the senses (in the best possible way)!

You might be thinking, "Pink Tutu, didn't you mention a train journey?". Well, yes, dear! As the sun began to set on my first day, I had the most charming encounter with a local taxi driver, Mr. Singh. I was lamenting the lack of a suitable location for my first Birmingham performance, a lovely little waltz from the Swan Lake. As it turned out, Mr. Singh knew exactly the place! He even offered to drive me to this little haven of enchantment, a historic train station where a vintage dance hall was tucked away, hidden like a precious secret. It had this ethereal glow, just like the magical realm in the Swan Lake itself. You can’t imagine how beautiful it looked, draped in twinkling lights and shimmering gold accents. Mr. Singh was even kind enough to give me a quick dance lesson – I might have accidentally forgotten how to do the waltz in the excitement of finding such a gorgeous space. The entire thing just felt so whimsical and perfect! I did an impromptu little performance, and all the folks at the station, a mix of commuters and curious locals, just stood there mesmerized! Everyone was so happy and clapped for me.

You see, darling, my purpose isn't just to glitter and dazzle, it's to inspire! To show everyone that we all have the power to turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one. Every person can bring a little sparkle to the world! Just imagine the impact a pink tutu could have!

After the magic of the train station, I found myself in a vibrant pub with live music – even better, the owner invited me to do a few impromptu songs and a bit of a twirl. The place erupted in applause and even a few shouts of “Tutu Queen”! That night I dreamt of the cheers and glitter.

Now, this blog isn't complete without mentioning some of the other things I discovered during my adventure! Did you know Birmingham has the most magnificent canals, dotted with colorful narrowboats and charming pubs? I simply had to take a romantic ride along the canals, complete with a delicious cuppa and a cheeky cupcake, of course! We cruised under picturesque bridges and watched as swans gracefully glided through the water. It felt so romantic, like a scene from a classic fairy tale.

But speaking of romantic, Birmingham isn't just about old-world charm and historical wonders! This city knows how to party! It's home to countless restaurants and clubs that come alive at night, pulsating with energy and excitement. I, however, opted for a more leisurely pace. I found myself wandering through the delightful shops of the Jewellery Quarter. What a treat it was! Sparkling diamonds and gemstones glittered beneath the dazzling chandeliers, their brilliance reflecting off my sequined bodice. Just a few more things to add to my collection.

Now, here's the deal: I always encourage my fabulous readers to add some Pink Tutu Sparkle to your lives! Wear a pink tutu to the local park, rock it at the supermarket checkout, or dance it up at your friend's party! Don't be afraid to let your inner sparkle shine!

I must be going now, dearies! It's time to catch a train to the next enchanting city on my map! Oh, and for those of you in Derbyshire, I'm planning a fabulous charity ballet performance in Bakewell next month - you don't want to miss this!

Stay sparkling, my darlings, and never stop twirling! Remember, you can find me daily on www.pink-tutu.com!

Yours truly,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
