Whitley Bay Calling! ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉฐ (Blog Post #1481)

Hey there, darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing you a whirlwind of sparkle and tulle straight from the charming seaside town of Whitley Bay! โœจ

Honestly, my love for this place just grew tenfold since I arrived. The fresh sea air, the laughter echoing off the pier, and the friendly locals all dressed in their finest puffer jackets (and by "finest," I mean with a bit of sparkle!) made me feel instantly welcome. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This trip started with a glorious train journey, you see. There's just something about the gentle rumble of the wheels and the endless vistas of rolling hills that soothes my soul. And of course, I was all decked out in a dazzling pink ensemble โ€“ a shimmering top, a pair of thigh-high boots with a hint of shimmer, and my signature piece: a voluminous tulle tutu, this one with delicate, hand-sewn glitter accents. It's always about making a grand entrance, even in first class, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, you might be wondering how a drag queen from Derbyshire ends up in a bustling coastal town like Whitley Bay. Well, darlings, I get asked that a lot! You see, the key to a successful life as a pink-tutu-wearing performer is to always be on the move. I perform at every fair, every local theatre, every event that wants a bit of sparkle in their life. Thatโ€™s how I afford my glittery life and how I manage to visit all these wonderful places! And itโ€™s definitely an advantage if the place has an amazing train connection like Whitley Bay does. I get to experience different towns and cities, and all without needing to drive! ๐Ÿ™Œ

As soon as I got to Whitley Bay, the friendly folks at the local community centre welcomed me with open arms. They've got an absolutely incredible space that's bursting with character, and the acoustics were perfect for my act. It was all sequins and feather boas, the usual Pink Tutu Sparkles extravaganza! I always do a short set for a local audience after I travel somewhere, you know, to meet some friendly faces and to celebrate a good trip. ๐ŸŽค

The best part? I managed to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset, and I tell you what, darlings, the sky over the North Sea was breathtaking. Iโ€™m thinking Iโ€™ll paint a pink sunset for my next set of ballet shoesโ€ฆ

After my set, I found myself with some time to explore the town. The shops were so quirky, with independent boutiques that made me wish I could live in a suitcase! My latest discovery: a cute vintage clothing shop called "Retro Chic." I practically did a pirouette in delight when I found a magnificent, powder-pink mohair jumper and some statement earrings with delicate feather accents! Honestly, I was ready for a fancy tea party, with a bit of whimsy!

Of course, I couldn't go to Whitley Bay without visiting the iconic Spanish City Dome. Just imagining the iconic red and yellow of that majestic structure had me excited before I even arrived! It felt like stepping back in time, all those vibrant colours, a charming retro coffee shop, a friendly fish and chips joint with all the locals chattingโ€ฆ You just feel a real community vibe there, even a drag queen can feel it!

Now, if you follow my blog, you know that a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure is never complete without some ballet inspiration. And luckily for me, Whitley Bay had some incredible dance studios to choose from. I took a wonderful beginners ballet class, because we're all starting somewhere, and learned some incredible moves. The teacher, a beautiful and patient soul with an absolutely stunning emerald green leotard and a beautiful pink ballerina bun, told me that I have real potential. "A bit of natural talent there," she whispered. I, of course, did my best pirouette and responded with a big theatrical bow, I simply cannot help myself! ๐Ÿ˜„

Thereโ€™s a really lovely little theater in Whitley Bay, called the Playhouse, with this amazing little green room for actors. The people I met were amazing, I spent hours gossiping with a beautiful seamstress with a penchant for lavender velvet and the director of the community theatre who promised to get his husband to try on a pink tutu for me (oh darling, how I love a good challenge!).

Honestly, you know me, always striving for that 'all-pink' vision. I even encouraged some local teens to put on pink tutus during the street market - a lovely little pink tutu dance-off to cheer up everyone. Even the old boys in their slippers came out to take a peek. One even told me, with a chuckle, "Never seen anything like it, but you're certainly giving the seaside a little pizazz!"

The trip, my dears, was absolutely magical, all thanks to the people of Whitley Bay. Iโ€™m not kidding when I say it's a real jewel tucked away on the North Sea.

Now, let me tell you a little secret. You see, a pink tutu isnโ€™t just a piece of clothing, darlings, itโ€™s a symbol of confidence, joy, and embracing life's little (and big) moments with open arms.

As for me? Well, I'll be off to my next adventure soon. Maybe I'll head down to sunny Brighton for a week or go back to Derbyshire for a show with the local ballet troupe. The world awaits! Stay tuned to find out where the pink tutu takes me next! ๐Ÿ’–

P.S. If you're in Whitley Bay and need a laugh, a dose of glitter, or a reason to embrace life's sparkle, be sure to come find me at one of the local theatres, a fancy restaurant, or even on the street market. Who knows? I might be doing a spontaneous impromptu tutu dance!

Until next time, lovelies!
