Oh, my darlings, can you believe it's Rutherglen on the blog today? I know, I know, not the most obvious destination for a pink tutu-loving queen like myself, but let me tell you, even in the most unexpected places, sparkle finds a way! This journey has been all about twirls, a little bit of glamour, and finding the beauty in the unexpected!
So how did I get to this glorious Scottish town? It all started, as it so often does, with a passion for the perfect pink tutu. You see, I found this absolute dreamboat of a tutu in a vintage shop in Derbyshire. It’s a glorious explosion of blush pink with little, perfectly placed sparkly embellishments that truly took my breath away. It screamed "Rutherglen!" So, obviously, I had to plan a whole journey around it.
My preferred mode of transport? You guessed it – a beautiful, old-fashioned train carriage. It's just so much more elegant than flying, don't you think? Plus, the window views are magnificent for a girl who loves to see the world from her pink-hued lens! And let's not forget the fun of watching the scenery roll by and seeing if anyone on the train would notice my incredible tutu (they did!).
Speaking of noticing things, let me tell you, Rutherglen was full of surprises! It's this darling, bustling town with a really strong sense of community. The architecture is gorgeous, honey. You know, the kind that makes you want to twirl under the most beautiful, ancient archway with your new pink tutu and give everyone a grand theatrical flourish.
After a bit of exploring, I popped into the cutest little ballet school. I swear, even my tutu was beaming with excitement at the chance to join the fun! Their dance class was fabulous - a whole bunch of kids giggling and pirouetting in perfect synchronicity. The energy was positively electrifying!

While my heart is with the performance aspect, the shopping aspect of Rutherglen was pretty fantastic. Let’s face it, every queen needs a little shopping therapy, and Rutherglen delivered big time. My trusty little purse had to get a serious workout at all those darling shops! Found the most gorgeous pair of pink-sequinned ballet pumps. They were calling to me like sirens from across the street!
My adventure in Rutherglen was a reminder of how important it is to take things as they come. I came here with the idea of showcasing a particular tutu, but the beauty of the place and its residents opened up a world of opportunities.
