Guiseley: Tutu Tales from a Pink Paradise!

Hello my fabulous friends! 💖

Welcome to the world of Pink Tutu Sparkles, where the only rule is to sparkle and shine like a pink diamond. Today's post is number 1650 on www.pink-tutu.com, and we're venturing north to the lovely town of Guiseley, Yorkshire!

Now, I'm a gal who loves her train journeys, the gentle rocking of the carriage, the click-clack of the tracks, the gentle hum of the engine - a bit of a railway romantic, you could say! This trip was extra special as I even got a horse and cart ride at the station! Yep, a real, proper, old-fashioned, clackety-clack horse-drawn cart ride! It's not everyday a drag queen gets whisked off on a carriage, darling! Talk about feeling like a princess, complete with my signature pink tutu, of course!

But Guiseley wasn't just about the fabulous transport! It was all about the excitement of performing at a grand open-air market, where the sunshine and laughter were as vibrant as my favourite colour.

Now, you all know my obsession with pink tutus, right? But let me tell you, this pink tulle dream was no ordinary tutu! I call it my "Rose Garden Delight" - layers upon layers of soft, floaty pink, each shimmering with sequins that caught the light just so. I swear it was as if the whole world was sparkling just for me! And, let's not forget the adorable pink bow perched on top, reminding me of my dear grandma, who used to say "A touch of pink always brightens your day".

The crowds loved it, and I just danced and twirled and twinkled my way through the stalls, filling the day with joy and a little sprinkle of sparkle magic! They'd say "That tutu is simply amazing, you really stand out!" and "It's such a beautiful sight, like a little bit of magic" and "What a beautiful shade of pink". All this, my lovelies, is why I just have to share my love for pink tutus. They're a beacon of joy, a symbol of self-expression and, darling, they just make the world a happier, more colorful place!

It’s always such a joy performing in the open air. You really feel connected to your audience, their faces beaming back at you like tiny suns! And as I'm shimmying and shaking, I remember how far I've come, from the shy student to the Pink Tutu Sparkles we all know and love!

Now, being a queen takes hard work! Back in Derbyshire, by day, I'm a scientist, working in a laboratory, testing fabric - no, I'm not checking for tutus, although I wish! - and then by night, I'm transforming myself into Pink Tutu Sparkles. I'll tell you a secret – it takes a LOT of hot pink glitter glue to stay sparkling, and more hairspray than I've ever sprayed on myself. But every minute is worth it!

Remember those gorgeous ballet shows I took you all to recently, the ones with the dramatic backdrops, the beautiful costumes and the graceful leaps? Well, let's just say I am an avid ballet enthusiast! You may have even seen me backstage at the ballet, looking fab in my pink tulle. I find the grace and elegance of the dancers so inspiring and captivating. Ballet really is an art form! And, my dear lovelies, if there is anything else more captivating than a ballet tutu twirling across a stage, well, I’d love to see it.

Now, I don't want to brag, but since starting out, I've travelled far and wide! The railways have become my best friends - imagine a comfy seat, a cuppa, a book, and the rhythmic hum of the train! There's nothing quite like it! It allows me to visit every town, every fair, every venue, wherever there’s a chance for me to spread a bit of pink tutu joy!

Today was a good day! After Guiseley's market performance, I stopped for a little cuppa and a delicious slice of homemade lemon cake with the sweetest lady who makes her own jams. And you wouldn't believe this: her favourite colour is also pink! The universe clearly wants me to share my love for pink tutus with everyone!

And you know what? You, too, can join the Pink Tutu movement! Even if you're a little bit shy or don’t feel daring enough, I encourage you to try! Even just adding a pink bow, a pink headband, or a splash of pink makeup can make a big difference. Let's spread that joy and get everyone to embrace a bit of pink!

So, thank you for joining me on another magical adventure! I’ll keep on spreading the love and, darling, I just know that we will get everyone wearing pink tutus! You know we can! 💖

Until next time, stay fab, stay colourful and… let’s just say it… Stay pink! 💕
