Oh my darlings! Wrexham, the heart of Wales! I've been longing to visit this charming town for ages, and finally, after much twirling and a lot of train travel (yes, I travelled in style, naturally!), I found myself stepping off the carriage and onto the cobbled streets. As soon as I stepped onto the platform, I knew this trip would be a whirlwind of pink, tulle, and Welsh hospitality!
My first order of business, of course, was to find the most fabulous pink tutu I could find. Wrexham, with its bustling markets and charming shops, certainly delivered! I was in heaven. Rows upon rows of fabric, shimmering satin, delicate lace, and of course, tulle! I think I spent an hour just stroking the softest pink tulle I’ve ever seen before deciding on the perfect fabric to be fashioned into my latest creation!
But Wrexham was so much more than just a shopping haven. It's got a vibrant cultural scene too, bursting with history and charm! I simply had to check out the iconic Wrexham Football Club! Don't think for a minute that my love for sport (especially the fabulously exciting sport of tutu ballet) made me forget the most important thing - accessorising. My bright pink tutu and diamante headpiece were the perfect fit for the momentous occasion! (You'll be seeing pictures soon on Pink Tutu HQ, so watch this space!)
The streets were bursting with friendly faces and local shops full of unique treasures. It’s hard to describe the magic you can feel as you wander through a Welsh village with a cuppa in one hand and a pink feather boa draped around your shoulders.
Of course, no trip to Wales would be complete without a visit to the stunning Snowdonia National Park. Now, I’m not saying that I tackled Snowdon itself. Don’t think for a moment that you’d catch your Pink Tutu Sparkles attempting to hike up a mountain in heels. (Though a pair of glittering silver heels did tempt me!) Instead, I indulged in a spot of breathtaking scenic viewing - much more appropriate for this tutu-wearing queen!
One of the highlights of my trip was a delicious Welsh tea at the cutest little cafe I stumbled upon in the heart of the city. They even had a pink and white themed dessert on their menu. Talk about fate!
But beyond the visual treats, the real gem of my journey was the kindness of the local people. I must have been stopped ten times a day, by ladies, gentlemen, and little tots alike, all desperate to give me compliments or ask for a picture. Wrexham, it turns out, is not only full of stunning scenery but is filled with people just as beautiful from the inside out.
But enough about me - I'm just here to spread a little bit of joy, a little bit of sparkle, and a lot of pink, all over the world!

The pinkest memoriesSince my last blog post, I've been back in the lab, getting my science-y on by day, and by night, transforming back into my dazzling alter ego - Pink Tutu Sparkles. There's a constant battle within me - the calm, analytical scientist Alex and the bright, shimmering performer Pink Tutu Sparkles - but somehow, they seem to complement each other perfectly!
Every evening I’m back in a room, performing at a new venue, or rocking a show in front of a brand new audience. These are the moments that make me tick - knowing that I’m inspiring a love for life, laughter, and tutus, no matter who I’m sharing the stage with!
My Wrexham trip reminded me why I love travelling and spreading the pink-tutu message across the globe. As I travelled across Wales by train, I watched the beautiful countryside flit by and the beauty of nature truly amazed me. Each stop I made, and each kind face I met made me fall a little more in love with the magic of Wales. I know that’s quite a feat since I already adore every corner of the world! It’s not just the beautiful towns, quaint villages, and enchanting landscapes, but the kindness of every local that truly captured my heart! I have to tell you about this one delightful elderly lady who gave me the most adorable knitted pink beret that she swore was "just perfect" for my flamboyant look! My heart literally melted, how could I ever resist a handcrafted gift from a local woman?!
Even in my lab coat by day, my love for pink tutus hasn’t dwindled - oh no! The colour pink has been my constant companion for almost a decade. It was the moment I stepped onto the university stage for our ballet club charity performance in a fluffy pink tutu that everything changed. The rush I felt performing for the crowd was pure exhilaration, it truly set me ablaze, and suddenly, pink tutus weren't just for ballerinas - they were for everyone! It was my Eureka moment, a call to pink and glitter - and so began the Pink Tutu Sparkles revolution. It's all about embracing our inner light and shining brightly, much like a freshly fluffed pink tutu!
Since then, my science background and my obsession with tutus have come together to inspire an ever-growing love for sparkly fashion, especially the power of the pink tutu! By day, I test textiles, using all my knowledge and skills as a science graduate to create the safest and best quality fabrics, and by night I turn into Pink Tutu Sparkles to teach the world about the joy of expressing themselves through bold fashion choices and performance.
These days I work at a busy laboratory testing everything from cotton to cashmere, satin to silk, with all types of chemicals - though luckily not on my favourite tutus - because I always wear my science goggles when working in the lab! My job is to help ensure fabrics are safe and comfortable for consumers and I love playing a role in that process.
However, nothing compares to the freedom I experience every night as I dance under the stage lights, as Pink Tutu Sparkles. From grand theatres to intimate village halls, my dazzling tutus are my trademark and help me transform any stage. They symbolize my love of dance and my passion for life and they’re the one constant in my double-life! I often get approached by new friends and aspiring dancers asking me about my choice of costume, my performance style, my colourful make-up, and I can't wait to tell them all!
That’s why I love being able to bring this passion into every blog post. Every post gives me an opportunity to remind you that wearing a pink tutu isn’t just about style - it's about self-expression, it's about finding joy in everyday moments, it's about breaking the boundaries and shining your light, however brightly! The other night, after rocking a dazzling dance routine for a huge crowd, one young boy in the audience approached me, eyes shining brighter than my sequined belt!
“You’re really amazing, Pink Tutu Sparkles,” he exclaimed, “I never thought I'd ever see a guy in a pink tutu!”
My heart almost burst, “Oh honey, you go out there and rock whatever you want - Pink Tutu Sparkles loves it when everyone finds what makes them feel happy, just like a sparkly pink tutu!”
I am constantly inspiring new fans to come out of their shells and express themselves freely and I want my followers to be fearless in how they choose to express their own sparkle, however that looks.
